Trying to think up ideas for weird prisoners in a sci-fi jail.

A former high-end fixer (think assassin for complex issues) who has had a psychotic break, and is now hallucinating both a cellmate and a phone, through which he communicates with his girlfriend, therapist, broker, bookie, etc. A humor addition, unless he gets loose.

    Media D&D Realms Maps

Those images look very much like the openly AI art battlemap packs offered on Etsy for $5.

    Media D&D Realms Maps

That's too bad. They're quite good. Yet another reason not to buy from you.

    Media D&D Realms Maps

I am rather suspicious by nature, but the idea of commissioning custom software for the purpose of commercially producing RPG maps does not ring true. Especially when you can buy 180 AI-generated maps on Etsy for less than $5.

    Media D&D Realms Maps

    Nope, that didn't do it.

    Media D&D Realms Maps

Why pay for maps, when so much truly excellent work is available for free on Pinterest and DeviantArt, among others?

Alien RPG 2nd Edition Maps Revealed

Nice maps, but you can find as good for free on Pinterest or DeviateArt, or other places on the Net.

How Do You Keep Track of All Your RPG Books?

Exactly. You should have a photo of everything you own of value, saved somewhere outside your home, like a jump drive in your vehicle or locker/desk at work.

    Hunter/Vampire: suitability for long-term play?

Thats good. Its the same system. How long did you run your campaign?

    Hunter/Vampire: suitability for long-term play?

I am impressed by the system and support, and often look to Hunter as a campaign option, but I am concerned about the potential for advancement in the system. I would like a 30-50 weeky session campaign (or longer), but I fear players hitting a maximum development ceiling. Is this a real concern?

How Do You Keep Track of All Your RPG Books?

I only buy pdfs, having consigned all hard copies except Harn to my dumpster. I keep them in folders by system or setting; for campaigns in play, copies are in those folders, too (so some are in multiple folders).

Follow-up: Longshoreman Strike Ends After Three Days

Its a good enough indicator, that both political parties watch it closely, so I shall note with confidence that I am right. :)

Follow-up: Longshoreman Strike Ends After Three Days

Given the volume of posts, and the volume of supporting comments, it proves the that the unions were taking fire. There's a reason why union breaking has has such success in the last couple decades: unions do not have as much public support as they did fifty years ago (as Aramis already pointed...

Follow-up: Longshoreman Strike Ends After Three Days

Valid points. Too few industrial/trade union officials take the long view, despite decades of bitter lessons. Your leverage is only applicable if your represented labor force is highly skilled, or there are no alternatives. The ability to ship jobs overseas, or just to more friendly states...

What Part Does the Role Play in the Role-Playing Game?

I have found that player resistance to more unsavory tactics fades very quickly when rewards and/or advantage come into play.

Follow-up: Longshoreman Strike Ends After Three Days

The union was roasted heavily on TikTok and other platforms. Saw it myself. The bad timing was the proximity to Hellene; they really took a lot of fire over that on social media. Again, saw it with my own eyes. The Biden administration will be out of office before January 15, so any promises...

What Part Does the Role Play in the Role-Playing Game?

I love historical settings. Not in the least because its fun to watch some players struggle with the norms of the time, while others fully embrace them. We're currently playing in a campaign set in 1889 Mexico (altered to where the Mexican Revolution kicked off in 1888), and watching them deal...

Follow-up: Longshoreman Strike Ends After Three Days

May not stick, the contract is not finalized. The union was taking heavy fire on social media, and the timing was awful. There are plans in motion to fully automate Houston's unloading facilities in the wake of this incident (they are semi-automated at the moment). Had the strike continued...

    Death of Player Characters

PC death is just part of the game. I never allow death-undoing elements, so all death is perma-death. (to be fair, I do not use 5e). Its not controversial at all, IME.
