    D&D 5E (2014) Design Debate: 13th-level PCs vs. 6- to 8-Encounter Adventuring Day

I think the above is looking at the system with rose colored glasses. A few points: - if it is good for the goose it is good for the gander. There is no restriction from using ranged against the party, in fact if a DM hasn't figured this out by say level 5, that's unfortunate. You can only...

Why haven't aliens got in contact with us yet?

Fair point, And we do not, I simply state that we are parasites, implying if humanity set off into the unknown with our current mindset it the cycle will continue. And perhaps this could be the case, the human condition, war is in our DNA...and between global extinction events and our nature...

Why haven't aliens got in contact with us yet?

Touching on the Fermi paradox, what if our solar system in the outer rim of the galaxy is just in the unknown, in our own existance we have only come into contact with other peoples around the globe recently ( yes this also arguable, but in our known history, its in the last 500 years). What if...

Why haven't aliens got in contact with us yet?

What a sad fate for the universe if this is true, heaven forbid we ever leap off this rock in our current condition...we parasites.

    D&D 5E (2014) Design Debate: 13th-level PCs vs. 6- to 8-Encounter Adventuring Day

depends on the friend... hahah the 5E one says 7 melee attacks, 6 with longswords, 1 with tail. I'd think yes it could use 3 TH weapons, how well it could aim three bows (at more than one target) is another story. I think the mentality of the marilith, it's ecology, and how 'they embrace...

    D&D 5E (2014) Design Debate: 13th-level PCs vs. 6- to 8-Encounter Adventuring Day

Okay, thanks for the clarity, I have not read the bulk of the last 12 pages, I had recalled early on a mention of a single maralith

    D&D 5E (2014) Design Debate: 13th-level PCs vs. 6- to 8-Encounter Adventuring Day

WHen all 7 of my PCs show up, I find this sort of thing happening, the cleric using his conc. on Bless, the Sorc on a twinned Haste, Our barb and Monk the recipients...its not pretty, but I've learned to deal with it :)

    D&D 5E (2014) Design Debate: 13th-level PCs vs. 6- to 8-Encounter Adventuring Day

IMO, the Marilith encounter is a bad example to use for this case, leading the discussion down the garden path... I feel that one encountered on its own, would be a subpar representation of a Marilith (this does not read: 'DM Celtavian played it wrong'), encountering a marilith on it's own is...

D&D 5E (2014) Random, balanced, fail proof 5E stat generation system

A method I've used before, which I garnered from the original Rogues Gallery ( a chart in the back had numerous NPC stat and you could roll random on it), was to roll 4d6 heaps of times and generate a d20 table. I originally used this for making NPC's on the fly, after a few years I had several...

True you cant modify rolls, but you can immediately edit a post as long as you do not tamper with the {roll}, and it will not show as edited I found this out because of my chronic typos, though I believe this is a function for PbP to allow editing the RP in lieu of the dice roll (success or...

DT's Saga of the Dragon Cult (Legacy of the Savage Kings)

At a loss for words, not because of the present situation, but in general; Scrag drops rock, bares teeth, and bellows a guttural, possibly caterwaul, warcry as he retaliates upon the creature. full round action, 2 claws and a bite [roll0] if hit,[roll1] [roll2] if hit,[roll3] [roll4] if...

Yttermayn's "Saga of the Dragon Cult" OOC 2

The only time I seem to have issues using the built in roller is when i try to put to many call outs in one line, for instance trying to use a {roll} function followed by a {link toa spell} in the same line, I find as long as a give each roll its on line like so(crosses fingers): 1d20 [roll0]...
