[LPF] Into the Wilds Part 1

http://s27.postimg.org/i1jrlr733/Snorri_thumb.jpg Peering up at the huts, Snorri changed back to his crossbow and leaned forward to the group, whispering "What'll be the plan? May e'en be a changing guard do." Hushing as a goblin walked from one hut to another, his crossbow raised, his eyes...

    D&D 5E (2014) +2 Wisdom Races and Kewl.

Also, interesting to note, the DMG listed NPC stats for Aaracocra as +2 Dex, +2 Wis, but when it became a playable race it was nerfed to +2 Dex, +1 Wis Dwarf NPC is listed as +2 Str or Wis, +2 Con. So with that in mind, logic would dictate that one could make a variant of Dwarf or Aaracocra...

    D&D 5E (2014) +2 Wisdom Races and Kewl.

After SCAG came out and reskinned Tieflings, I felt compelled to reskin an Aasimar variant of +2 wis, +1 Cha...and found they still really only work well as Clerics and Paladins lol

    D&D 5E (2014) Design Debate: 13th-level PCs vs. 6- to 8-Encounter Adventuring Day

also the thing about this particular exercise written by Flamestrike, is that they are all strictly combat orientated, with a couple diplomacy options. I try to add some form of puzzle, or social interaction option, trap or difficult area to traverse, all resource demanding situations which I...

    D&D 5E (2014) Design Debate: 13th-level PCs vs. 6- to 8-Encounter Adventuring Day

This is sort of where we sit, depending on how many dice need to be rolled, and how well prepared they are versus that/those types of monsters, they might only make it through a couple encounters, require a short rest, and then another encounter drains them requiring the long rest. Likewise...

It could be a D&D Monsters

When i first moved to West Australia, I stumbled across an adult one of these things (they are more grey with harder shell), it looked like a Sandworm from DUne. I thought it was from outer space called a Sandgroper ( FYI, nickname for West Aussies is Sandgroper) About 3-4 inches long the one...

    D&D 5E (2014) Criminal Duel-Wielding Ranger Build

Half Elf is definitely the way to go if you are plying for Deception/persuasion style of build with criminal. if you want to play a Two-weapon rogue that is not a rogue but just as good, Bard actually works into that much better than Ranger, because of how many skills you get, and go with...

Yttermayn's "Saga of the Dragon Cult" OOC 2

Didn't change anything, just leveled up Scrag to 5th

(Rogue's Gallery) Yttermayn's Saga of the Dragon Cult

Scrag Dimtroll Whenever asked to identify himself, the young troll points a thumb in his chest and utters the word "Scrag." No one knows if its his name or if it is an indicator of an aquatic troll heritage. His sea-green and bluish hued skin would seem to indicate the latter, but he doesn't...

D&D 5E (2014) When generational differences become apparent

I feel the biggest impact on the 'generationalisticness' at the table is whether or not you grew up playing MMO's,; by that I mean in the last fifteen years, as some of us have had the fortunate misfortune of playing 8bit NWN (and Loving it!), but it was secondary, a placebo until it was time to...

Yttermayn's "Saga of the Dragon Cult" OOC 2

OK! thought I'd have sorted out the feat thing out for Scrag by yesterday ...but, because life... after all that 'homework', my brain is indeed frazzled, and I think I will just go the easy route and work with the feats as they are :) I'll post to CS a little later on tonight,

D&D 5E (2014) what is it about 2nd ed that we miss?

I wish I could get my long time 2E DM to come around to this thinking, but he's stuck in to our old house rules, which are mostly his, and wont budge. Not that I dont mind playing in his campaign, but I agree with you 100% on the above :)

D&D 5E (2014) what is it about 2nd ed that we miss?

I am compelled to chime in on this one; Firstly, what's there to miss? my answer to that, may be skewed, in that I have the fortune of playing with the same group of people since high school (1980s), which are five of the eight of us (yes eight is more than enough!!); and those five became...

Watch Chris Perkins' First Episode of DICE, CAMERA, ACTION

    I'm guessing Gauntlets of Ogre Power are in use, non variant Human (+1 to all) Str 19 (gauntlets){ 8 +1 =9} Dex13 (pb=4 pts, 12+1=13} Con 16 {pb=9 pts, 15+1= 16} Int 11 {pb= 2 pts, 10+1=11} Wis 12 {pb=3 pts, 11+1=12} Cha 17 {pb=9 pts, 15+1=16} Cha +1 from an item gets 17? I would say...

    D&D 5E (2014) some tweets

'interesting...yes very interesting,' DM cackles --------------------- I would argue that the MM strikes the duplicate you chose (and disregards the random roll), furthering that, better use of MM is to target all duplicates and remove the defense entirely...

    D&D 5E (2014) Design Debate: 13th-level PCs vs. 6- to 8-Encounter Adventuring Day

Great wrap up, Flamestrike! One thing I was considering throughout the adventure, is, being linear in story, there are no side treks, or distractions. Bringing up the '6-8' possibility adding a random encounter en route to the mountain, and a possible extra room or two once inside tye demi...

Spine Growth (AKA, 'get yer arse up into battle, Bob!') 2nd-level transmutation Casting Time: 1 action Range: 150 feet Components: V, S, M (seven sharp yet witty barbs, each of a valid point) Duration: Consternation, up to 10 minutes A visibly cowardly creature within range twists and pouts as...
