DM's Day Sale on DM's Guild...with 5e conversions of old modules?

There is an enormous amount of stuff on sale. Just limiting it to WOTC stuff was in the hundreds. I ended up getting pdf versions of old modules that I actually own and either have run or plan to run in 5e. $3 for a pdf module seems like a steal. Other books were $6. Al-Qadim: Land of Fate $6...

D&D Art & Arcana Amazon Sale

I think the sale is over by now, but the book is worth getting. I got the regular version at Christmas and I'm fairly certain it was about 50% off at the time. It's a good one-stop shop for your D&D art needs, especially if there is any era of D&D you don't have books for (3e and 4e for me).

Unboxing the Stranger Things D&D Starter Set

The screenshots may be yours but having now watched part of the video your screenshots are an accurate representation of the video. It's awful video quality. The video is SD quality. It looks like a video from my cheap mediocre camera I had 15 years ago. I couldn't find where he says "coup de...

Unboxing the Stranger Things D&D Starter Set

Wow. Those screenshots look like the most unprofessional unboxing I've ever seen. And, sadly, I've seen my share of unboxing videos. The set looks fine. But that video is amateur hour looking.

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

Were all of the adventures that are being republished originally set in Greyhawk?

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

My basic experience as well. U1 is great but I don't think most groups will find U2 or U3 enjoyable. U1 is a great two-session adventure (4 hour sessions) to start players off. My version of it has about 1500 xp in part one, enough to make a party level 2 (and hand wave if they aren't). Run it...

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

If they do as poor a job on this as they did with Yawning Portal this is an easy pass. I guess if you get this on sale it's still cheaper than buying a PDF of each of the adventures. But the Yawning Portal adaption was lazy and you didn't even get the pleasure of original font, art, and layout...

DnD Beyond is having quite a sale

$20 is about my asking price for many of the 5e books outside of the big 3. It's about what I paid on Amazon for them over the holidays. Seems like a good deal for those interested in a digital only version of the book.

    Question about clerics

I'd just stick cleric. You can wear heavy armor already. You have a minor self-heal with Second Wind. If you are in the front line you will probably be taking damage so your 6th level ability will heal you as well. So, yeah, stay cleric. At 6th level even a simple spell like healing word is...

Here Are The Most Popular D&D Feats (War Caster Leads The Pack!)

The game, of course, doesn't actually tell us what the somatic gestures are for most spells (off the top of my head I recall fireball stating you pointed and burning hands is palms facing away from you with thumb and forefinger touching thumb and forefinger of other hand). But we can imagine a...

Pages From The Upcoming Nautical D&D Book!

Hands down my favorite module. I'm kicking myself for not getting it when it was new. It would be a great module to use if WOTC ever wanted to make a 1-5 level adventure and set it in Karameikos. Sure, you could (and WOTC probably would) set it in FR but it would lose something.

Here Are The Most Popular D&D Feats (War Caster Leads The Pack!)

An overabundance of Charisma based character classes who might take advantage of such a feat. Combine that with martial feats that are equal to PAM in usefulness.

Completely Clueless about D&D - Where to start & character creation question

    1. Free Basic rules available online. The text that is in the Basic rules is identical to that of the Players Handbook (it's a straight copy and paste from about 1/3 of the PHB), which is likely the next thing to get. Common mistakes? It's been so long... Ummm... players forgetting what their...

So is it official now? Counterspelling

This allows any rule to be ignored in AL, then. That seems to go against the spirit of AL. If a DM wants to say daggers do 10d20 damage because of his interpretation, that'd be cool, right?

So is it official now? Counterspelling

The somatic component for counterspell is a raised middle finger, right? I swear I read that somewhere.

How often do you use the Inspiration rules?

I don't think it's my job as DM to tell you if you're playing your character well or not. Are you playing the character or am I? While it's useful for a DM to know a PC's traits I'd rather leave the ultimate decision to the player. In fact, I think everyone at the table should know the other...

How often do you use the Inspiration rules?

LOL. This is the kind of reply that should get someone a ban or at least a time out. Especially since you didn't even bother to give any reasons why. It's uncalled for and not worthy of respect.

Pages From The Upcoming Nautical D&D Book!

I'd charge zero dollars for my conversion of U1 if someone just wanted something functional to use with a pdf of the original and its actual content probably wouldn't be much worse. It'd be a very plain 3 page pdf of an Excel spreadsheet of the encounters with creature stats and treasure. I...

If you Google "Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh maps" it's the second link that comes up. http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?599323-U1-Sinister-Secret-of-Saltmarsh-MAPS All of his maps are great. Lucky for me I hope to run N1 and X2, which he also has maps for.

How often do you use the Inspiration rules?

I'm an iserith disciple when it comes to Inspiration. Inspiration encourages people to play their character as a person and not just stats. But this isn't a movie and I'm not a director so who am I to say you're playing your character right or wrong? It's your PC. You get to decide. Sure, the...
