    D&D 5E (2014) Forced March question

Idea: have the players burn a HD to relieve a level of exhaustion while marching.

D&D 5E (2014) yes, this again: Fighters need more non-combat options

I'll add that I like the idea of the Fighter: Scout using superiority dice on exploration checks so much I'd like something like a Fighter: Knight who used superiority dice on social checks.

D&D 5E (2014) yes, this again: Fighters need more non-combat options

Late to the party with 130 posts already in the thread but the first reply is exactly what I would have written. The Fighter:Scout is a great subclass and provides an interesting use for superiority dice.

    Spring's D&D Release Will Be Ship-Themed

I'm all for a better focused rules supplement. I realized a few days ago I rated two D&D supplements lower because they seemed like a grab bag of ideas. Give me a book with a tight focus.

Is it just me or is the spell Rope Trick kind of absurd?

People who have anger or control problems tend to do that. Check out the article from a few days ago written by a former cable tv technician about her various house calls.

How often do your players multiclass?

I've never seen it. My sample size isn't large but none of the players in my games have multi classed. Last campaign had eight players who achieved levels of any consequence. None multiclassed but seven took feats at level four.

Jasper's Annual. I SPENT HOW MUCH! DUMB JASPER.

Dragon Con can get expensive, can't it? I live two hours East of Atlanta and have gone to Dragon Con five times so far, though never for gaming. Even though D&D has been a part of that convention since the beginning (see also, ads in Dragon magazine from the '80s)

    Waterdeep: Dragon Heist

1 out of 5 rating for Waterdeep: Dragon Heist The dragon isn't really a dragon and the heist isn't much of a heist. The parts of the adventure don't really flow well. Sixty or so pages are dedicated to lairs the PCs will almost assuredly not go to. The adventure requires huge amounts of prep...

"How do I beat the Matt Mercer effect?"

Oh, ya. It was so cold up dere on da mountain dat our beards froze! The alcoholism. The repressed emotions. The cold. How can you not play a dwarf like he's just walked off the set of Fargo?

"How do I beat the Matt Mercer effect?"

Dwarves in my campaign speak like they're from North Dakota or they're Yoopers. Brush up on Fargo. You betcha! Sadly, no players have decided their dwarf speaks like that. Can't imagine why!

Give Me Your Dragon Heist Tips

The adventure isn't very good so I'll just echo the words of caution and suggestions given. I think you'd be better off paying $5 per PDF of some classic modules at DMs Guild and converting them.

D&D Movie/TV (Yet another) D&D Movie Speculation thread.

Warwick Davis was also the main star in Willow. But that still leaves our total of short actors at about two.

"How do I beat the Matt Mercer effect?"

My knowledge of anime basically ceased when I left college in 1998 or so. I've heard of Full Metal Alchemist but seen none of it. I know nothing about Blue Exorcist. I've heard of Adventure Time but never seen an episode. I've heard of Overwatch but never played it and never heard "It's High...

"How do I beat the Matt Mercer effect?"

I can see the enjoyment in watching people who have done voice work on animated shows you've watched or video games that you've played. But, after looking at the voice work of the primary Critical Role cast and the hundreds of projects they've been in, the only thing I've heard is Liam O'Brien...

D&D Movie/TV (Yet another) D&D Movie Speculation thread.

Jester David already posted some numbers but I'll add that it did about 1/2 of its total gross in China and studios don't get the same cut out of foreign gross as they do out of domestic. I doubt you can expect a D&D movie to get half its gross out of China. It's going to be difficult for a D&D...

D&D Movie/TV (Yet another) D&D Movie Speculation thread.

Indeed it did have very light drip off. The weekend estimates weren't in when I posted yesterday but it looks like it will do better in its third weekend than its second weekend. It's a great movie so I'm glad it's doing so well.

"How do I beat the Matt Mercer effect?"

The only watch-a-game-play I ever found interesting was one of my own I played in way back in '97 or so. It was actually read-a-transcript-of-a-session but still. Someone in the group recorded our session and wrote a transcript. It took a long time and she never did it again but it was really...

    D&D 5E (2014) Does Rope Trick Heal?

Since the rope can be 60 feet or less you can certainly make the rope length short enough to be trivially easy to climb.

    D&D 5E (2014) Does Rope Trick Heal?

I think the spell exists to provide a safe short rest according to the default rules on resting.

    Balancing out Racial Abilities

You're responding to me but you're not responding to what I actually posted. I posted nothing that said that darkvision was 0.5 points. That was a different poster. You can fault his math but since you haven't actually done any analysis yourself I have zero reason to actually believe you. Take...
