Im actually surprised they haven't found some way to make a deal with Crit Role and make Exandria the flagship D&D setting. Yeah that would require ownership stuff WotC and Crit Role doesnt want to deal with so have to stick with changing Faerun and everything else.

Just comes off an more hominization of the settings. Everything samey. From Dragonlance to Ravenloft to Greyhawk. I honestly can't wait to the modern version of Dark Sun. If you thought the GH Scarlet Brotherhood to Order was a weird change... just wait. I still can't get passed Solomnic...

For myself, it's been done over and over. Heck going to dinner is in the original module. Also the party is trying to hard to subvert a trope. Orc Wizard! Drow Barbarian! Tiefling Paladin. Luckily it keeps the tiefling bitter so woo tropes! Oh and of course everyone loves Jarnathan so...

I do remember all the happy times and smiles in Hunger Games. Like when her friends and family were killed by a dictator. And she was forced to kill other teens to survive in death matches. Good times.

Speaking of Dark Sun, as popular as Fallout is and the Fallout tv show, I'd be surprised if WotC didn't try to get some of that post-apoc setting dollars soon-ish. Hopefully not just as a 20 page surface lore followed by the rest of the book as an adventure (see most WotC adventures not set in...

My little 2 cents: 5E is bloated. That doesn't mean it's not fun just that it over-complicated. Sure it's not 3E bloated but hey what is? Try teaching a new player 5E and Shadowdark and see which one is easier to learn and play the fastest. Saying that, you will always have an easier time...
