People who don't like campaign world books should check out the 2E FR Grey Box and or the FR 3E book because that stuff is GOLD. Especially the Grey Box.

Picked up some spare 1E Goblins, Kobolds, and Bugbears from Ebay. I'll just get the BG3 stuff off Ebay. Hopefully Minthara won't be insane in cost.

To counter my point, I haven’t had this issue when running AD&D / Basic D&D official adventures. They are tuned just fine. It seems to be a modern design issue.

I can only speak for myself, but I mainly run official published adventures when I complain about encounter balance.

D&D isn't about dungeon delving anymore. 5E still had that in mind when it was written. Hopefully it's rebalanced for the 2-3 fight adventuring day with our ultra powered heroes going HAM in both of them. But I doubt it. Monsters would have to be massively redesigned and rebalanced, and...

From my experience, the highs are higher when the players feel like they are in actual danger. For example in an AD&D game: Group wandered into a Harpy lair. All but one was charmed in the first round. That player went 1 v 1 and saved the day. Like REALLY saved the day. Death for everyone...

I have yet to see the FLGS covers at my local FLGS. It's all the normal covers since release. Last weekend they had like 8+ copies all normal covers.

Really I just want Sh A brick is 8 packs. 4 figs per pack. Only 1 Chase per 8 packs aka 1 in 32 figs aka 1 brick.
