Yeah same thing I gathered from reading various books on the subject. I don’t hold a loathing for Gygax the way some others do but yeah poor business man. Williams turned out to not be much better but she kept AD&D alive a bit longer.

Perhaps you take both classes at the same time and have to split your xp evenly. Take you twice as long to level but you are basically both classes.

I would love a Multiclass system for SD. I was messing around with an old school style where its more like dual classing. Once you leave a class you cant go back. So take 3 levels of Fighter. Switch to Cleric. Cant take anymore fighter levels. Plus have to follow the class rules, like...

Probably true. My experiences come from asking for players on General RPG pages etc for different games and getting nothing. Quick hits when I mention 5E though.

I always laugh when I see people claim there is a “DM shortage.” No there isnt. You just don’t want to try the games the DM/GM wants to run. “Not D&D 5E? Why is it so hard to find a game to play in?!?!?”. Try Shadowdark or Vampire or Cyberpunk etc. it won’t kill you and you might like it.
