Elon Musk Calls for Wizards of the Coast to "Burn in Hell" Over Making of Original D&D Passages

Yeah, using a Palantir when not a legit Elf friend and heir of Elindel can lead even the wisest and most powerful into the Shadow.

Preventing cookies completely would kill all web applications, including forums. Outlawing persistent cookies would probably kill most online applications, mobile app, a lot of online analytics and tracking.

Ask a hunter gatherer how many women and babies die in childbirth or children before the age of 5. Yes we have problems and many are self inflicted but there was never a time in the past that was better to live in than now. This may also be of interest.

    D&D 5E (2024) What's Your Experience Like with '24?

No proper campaign switch just yet but I have run a couple of session based on the Uni the Unicorn adventure on D&DBeyond using Beyond Maps. The first session was with a group organised by my nephews as a one off when a player could not make it. Did not complete the adventure but got most of...

Hasbro Confirms New Unannounced Dungeons & Dragons Video Game in Development

I would like that DLC also and one that perhaps gave a different path in the beginning of Act III

I mostly agree with this, but a lot depends on how the genie granting the tech freezing wish interprets that wish. The biggest loss in the west regarding nuclear power is the loss of building and project management knowledge. There is a lot of practical construction and engineering knowledge...

Yes, but what exactly is this magic wand doing. I believe that we will culturally adapt to all this tech at some point and freezing the world in time has as many negatives as positives. But to get back to the topic, is the magic wand preventing the underlying technologies from being developed...

I am not sure you could, social media is a broad and not terribly precise terms. More precisely, what would have to happen to change the course of that part of social media so that it would not develop in the way it has. To do that, I am not sure, give people stronger property rights over their...

Why a rapier is bad for an adventurer

No, it was in the 3.0 and 3.5 rules as a d6 weapon with an 18-20 critical range, for the medium version and 1d4 for the small. It looks like 1d8 rapiers start with fourth edition.

D&D 5E (2014) Dragon Dilemma - Opinions? Advice? All are welcome!

I have actually read the opening chapter but forgot what level they were supposed to be. But yeah, I come from those olden time and tend to default to the mean side. I am trying to do better.

They find something in the river that will aid their escape with or without an encounter. Or You TPK the party and they wake up at first level in a morgue in Sigil ;)

The DM should also consider awarding blessing and boons to cover gaps that may appear in play.

D&D General Session Zero and Nobody Chose a Spellcaster

From personal experience most WoTC adventure paths seems to be built for 4 person parties. I have run Princes of the Apocalypse and the encounter difficulty starts to fall off about level 7 or so. This is a particularly tanky party and in my experience the lack of a full caster is less relevant...

Why a rapier is bad for an adventurer

I do not have the old D&D manuals but my impression was the D&D broadsword is what is now referred to as an arming sword. Whereas what are now (in historical circles) as broadswords are weapons that are also descended from the arming sword with similar hilts and guards as rapiers but beefier...

Why a rapier is bad for an adventurer

The argument is that the rapier is long and nimble and thus ideal in one vs one combat because one can keep the opponent at a distance. The issue with multiple opponents is that with a thrusting weapon pulling the weapon out of the others body is an extra step as compared to a cut (particularly...

D&D 5E (2014) Have a new player that I will be DMing, got some questions.

Are you using 2014 rules or 2024? If the latter, then the Eldritch Knight has become a decent but not too complex fighter caster whereas I found that build very limiting in the 2014 rules. If using 2014 the paladin would be my recommendation for a martial that can cast spells. I would also...
