How does this adventure have a metaplot? It does not require any other adventure book to run and if the pcs succeed it does not effect any permanent change to the D&D multiverse. This is pretty much the same as any other adventure path.

I do not have the book but as i understand it the latter. If you are ranger and have proficiency with all weapons and the Nick and Vex masteries they you get to use these masteries if you are using a relevant weapon.

6 seconds is an arbitrary number that Wizards pulled out of their ass. It has little bearing on anything real but it is a useful clock. I tend to regard that number a a guideline.
