    D&D 5E (2024) Heroes of the Borderlands

30 or more pages in we are still arguing about goblin children, the module never made sense to me. It was one of the first I ever bought read and never ran. It simply made no sense, what were the orcs and goblins doing there, why was there no dynamic defence. Why did they simply not leave when...

Project Sigil All the Deets on Project Sigil the D&D 3D Virtual Tabletop

Ok, How does "Pay to win" D&D work? Do not just point at BG 3 and Fortnite and say "Pay to win" that tells me nothing because both of those are computer games. The play loop is controlled by code and a cpu, and pay to win can be embedded into the code. How, in a game of D&D with a DM and players...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

That is a trivial observation and adequately modelled in the D&D rules. The rpg trope of the melee archer is utterly unreal though, no-one was using a bow once there were people with sharp cutlery within 60 feet unless there were behind the kind of obstacle that the enemy could not easily get...

D&D 5E (2024) Best fix for conjure minor elemental?

Once per attack from the attack action only. So, if one substitutes a multitarget cantrip for an attack using a class feature the spell only triggers once. I think that is the rule as intended.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

So was full plate and polearms, at the ranges D&D battles are fought melee weapons dominated. The English longbow men did not use their bows in melee, they used mauls.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

The French fought at Agincourt on foot and while the English Longbow men were important and a major part of English armies of the period there were several thousand English men at arms in full plate with pole arms and they did most of the killing of Frenchmen.

Project Sigil All the Deets on Project Sigil the D&D 3D Virtual Tabletop

What I would love is an AI that can give me an art piece from a map or a map from an art piece.

Project Sigil All the Deets on Project Sigil the D&D 3D Virtual Tabletop

I do not actually give a damn, I have being playing and buying electronic games for over 30 years and am well aware of the ephemeral nature of the medium. There is an element of condescension in this post. I know that it is not forever to have stuff online, especially in propitiatory formats...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Announces 3rd Party Creator Partners

As long as they remain viable as an alternative service/shop that is all that ie really needed for some health competition.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Announces 3rd Party Creator Partners

(Note: I have not read further than this in the thread) but the Steam Store strategy seem to me to be very sensible one for WoTC to pursue. Other than Roll20/Drivethru has anyone else the pockets to do this?

D&D 5E (2024) [Houserule] If Sabre was a new weapon type, what should it's mastery property be?

Not really but the issue with the d8 finesse weapon has more to do with D&D's attribute system and how it interacts with combat. Strength is important but in real life so is dexterity. If you look at the actual weights of real weapons (as distinct from D&D weights) then all single handed weapons...

D&D 5E (2024) [Houserule] If Sabre was a new weapon type, what should it's mastery property be?

A sabre is more of a development of the scimitar (depending on what type of sabre you are talking about) as the rapier. It can be legitimately view as a d6 or d8 weapon, again depending on time period and place and vex or nick would be appropriate in my mind.

D&D General Interview with D&D VP Jess Lanzillo on Comicbook.com

Even if one can download them, they are transient goods unless one is extremely disciplined on backups and format maintenance.

D&D General Interview with D&D VP Jess Lanzillo on Comicbook.com

I think there would be less of an issue if people actually thought about how these things would work in D&D if there were to be adopted. In my opinion, many of the models used in video game, simply does not work in D&D. Consider for a moment loot boxes. In video games they provide cosmetics, or...

D&D 5E (2024) Motley Fool Prediction: New Dungeons & Dragons Edition Won't Help Hasbro Much

None of these, to see real big bucks, games, movies, shows all of which are somewhat hit and miss. Takes a lot of capital and throw it as the wall and see what sticks. Not sure Hasbro has the skills or gumption for that. Licencing would be less risk but also lower return. There is always the...

Project Sigil Now You Can Watch WotC's 3D VTT 'Project Sigil' In Action!

Personally, I think, one of the key things will be "how easy is it to setup maps?" and/or how cheap and flexible are the prefabs.

    D&D 5E (2024) New stealth rules.

Basically, we have a number of options. Interpret the rules to produce a sensible narrative, accept an absurd narrative or find other rules.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Player's Handbook Video Redactions & Takedowns

Does anyone know if Wizards have their one inhouse legal department or if they rely on legal services from Hasbro. If the latter, it would completely explain the difference. Hasbro legal would likely not be used to the culture around D&D and open gaming ideas and probably anyone there that would...
