You're approached by a Hollywood exec...

The biggest issue with this kind of thing is that I don't know enough to give a sensible answer. I know that historically the biggest source of top quality movies in the past was the mid budget movie or even the better budgeted B Movies, not the deliberate attempts at blockbuster movies. I do...

Vox Machina's "maturity" or lack thereof is more a reflection of some of the lowbrow humour of the live play as anything else.

    D&D 5E (2024) Thoughts on Stealth and D&D2024

Yup, I am very much of the mind to view invisibility as a "Nothing to see here" field with Greater Invisibility as a damn near transparent effect.

Who’s your vote for the next James Bond?

I always imagine that how they use Bond anyway. MI6 HQ: Le Carre style spy "Well, M, we think there is a connection between A and X but we cannot trace it." M "Why don't we send in Bond, watch to see who shoots at him, tag and monitor the survivors". .....

Who’s your vote for the next James Bond?

Personally I would love that they tke up 20 years or so after Bonds death with his daughter needing the help of the current 007 to deal with fallout of Bonds death.

Dingle, Oporto and Bergen were, I was informed in geography class 50 odd year ago among the 3 wettest towns in Europe. I am not sure that, it is still true as rainfall may have shifted in the meantime. But annual rainfall in Dingle is 1489mm. The west is wetter in general than the east with the...

Ireland would be rainforest if left to nature, at least where it would not be a bog.

Yeah, Neverwinter in particular should be fairly wet.

Ok, I picked it up wrong. All of these question give an indication of the questions that need to be answered in the game introduction.

Ok, we seem to be at cross purposes? I think for you write earlier that magic is restricted in some form by Earth's lack of an arcaneosphere, but now you are saying there is no restriction on slots availability.

    D&D 5E (2024) Urban Fantasy via D&D 2024

I am under the impression that in your setting to cast a spell I need some artifact. Lack thereof restricts my spell casting. How does this work? If it does not then why bother with this missing arcaneosphere?

That is not my question, what happens to 2 level 3 spells per short rest?

Do You Think Open Playtests Improve a Game's Development?

How to do market research has not been forgotten the methods are still there is the literature. It is not compatible with the investor classes aims to do quality products in many consumer sectors but to get into the details would involve some political analysis.

    D&D 5E (2024) Urban Fantasy via D&D 2024

You are correct but most modern D&D classes have a high magical dependency. I think if I was doing this, I would be inclined to separate slot recovery from rests. Like, is it possible to play a fifth level warlock in your world? How would it work?

    D&D 5E (2024) Urban Fantasy via D&D 2024

It seems to me that you have a pretty developed idea about how your world works and I find myself questioning D&D as a fit template. You seem to want D&D mundane combat but really low magic.

I want to reply to the bolded bit. I think that the statement is all very well for an author but for an rpg campaign then the players and the referee need to be on the same page as to where and how far the fantasy rules trump ones understanding of the real world.

    D&D 5E (2024) Urban Fantasy via D&D 2024

I am not suggesting making guns OP (though I think that they are in fact OP, that is why we use them) but having combat manoeuvres or weapon masteries that reflect what guns are in fact good at. That sounds like a no then, and restarting the earths arcanosphere would change physics as currently...

    D&D 5E (2024) Urban Fantasy via D&D 2024

The first thing that strikes me is that guns need to impose status effects, not just knock off hit points. One does not stand there and take it with modern firearms in the mix. One goes prone, finds cover gets suppressed. First fire effects can be devastating, akin to a sneak attack. Are you...

Best time to release a Forgotten Realms product on DMsGuild?

I have no idea, but it strikes me a bigger issue is how to make any particular product rise above the sheer mass of stuff on there already.
