D&D 5E (2014) How would you ensure longevity and sustainability for 5th Edition?

Yes, it still is. It remains magnitudes more popular than its nearest competitor. When WoW drops to two million subs sometime in the next few years, it'll be a fifth the size it was, and still be killing everyone else. It was also the first price hike in ten years.

D&D 5E (2014) Inkarnate - Web Based Fantasy Map Generator

For those of us who...I'm trying to think of a better word than "suck"...it would be nice to see how the various tools come together to make maps of the quality people are throwing together on this page. :)

D&D 5E (2014) Inkarnate - Web Based Fantasy Map Generator

Smart site, and the sample posted above looks excellent. However, needs tutorials. :)

D&D 5E (2014) Why is the wizards site so hard to navigate?

Apart from the fact that the "Media" menu should be renamed "Downloads", I actually think it's okay.

    D&D 5E (2014) Monsters for a Second Monster Book

This is exactly my opinion on the subject. I'm not after specific monsters, just page after page of inspirational cool stuff.

    D&D 5E (2014) Set for charge

It loses value significantly when players don't have to declare their actions before rolling initiative. Why would you charge at a defender set to receive you? You wouldn't, you'll charge at someone else. As a defensive measure, it works, in that you weren't charged, but it cost your whole...

D&D 5E (2014) What to do if a player keeps reading the adventures

I really wouldn't have any interest in running a game for such a player. The mystery is not only ruined for him, but by his overly-informed actions, he's changing the outcome of the module for everyone else as well. No. He'd be gone, sharpish.

D&D 5E (2014) Theatre of the Mind or Miniatures?

That had me guffawing as well. :)

Mike Mearls Talks (er, Tweets) About the Industry

D&D still has its market in the face of competition from incredibly rich game experiences. The gulf between video games and TTRPG's, and video-games with VR and TTRPG's, is not so huge. VR dramatically increases immersion, but until software can generate realistic human interaction on the fly...

D&D 5E (2014) Quiet players and social anxiety

Fair point. I made a bad assumption there. On the general issue though, I still disagree.

    DRAGON+ Now Available For Ratings

Are you absolutely sure about that, KM? It seems to me that nerd-rage is constant flow: it just gets directed at whatever is convenient.

D&D 5E (2014) Quiet players and social anxiety

I struggle to empathize with the poster you quoted. I assume he must have players lining up around the block for a seat at his table, if he can afford to dump friends from the game for being too quiet, so on the bright side he should never have to suffer such awful people for long.

D&D 5E (2014) Dealing with a trouble player and a major blow up

I'm operating on the assumption that everything you've said is faithful to what happened. People like this just suck the joy out of roleplaying. I've been there. You can't ever lose yourself in the game because they're constantly bitching, questioning, or disagreeing with the DM. Every...

D&D 5E (2014) The Math for the Building a Stronghold Downtime Action is... odd

Yes, this has been noted as an oddity before. It kind of works if you look at construction as a sunk cost where you anticipate how many days your character will be available to supervise across the entire construction time ("Let's assume we're available 50% of the time over the next six...

Rejik grabs the halfling by the shoulder and bends down to look him in the eye. "Consider it done." Then, with a smile, he claps him on the back. "You're of much more use to me with just the two legs and all of your fingers intact." Anyone paying attention might notice that Rejik sticks closer...
