Taking the above graph, for most of that time, the PHB was the only rules book. XGtE came out at the end of 2017 (Tasha's at the end of 2020). Now it seems like there is a lot of criticism of its content, and desire to use outside options, but it was good enough for a long time!

The barbarian was a good (the best?) non-caster. Now just better, especially Frenzy, and without messing with the feel of the class (unlike some others that have their own threads right now).
