D&D 5E (2014) What if the D&D Core outsells the revised D&D Core?

Not too quote myself...but there is a very strong every other edition effect. 1e outsold 2e. B/X outsold BECMI. 3e outsold 4e. Then of course 5e outsold everything. Can they really top it? Can they even keep the momentum going? New things will come along in the next two years, who knows what...

    D&D General Best D&D Novels

I think Quag Keep actually is official, or semi-official. And Guardians is under-appreciated. But what is really under-appreciated is Gord the Rogue! From the master himself! Oh well.

    A New "anti-D&D" Era

I agree with the first para, not sure about the second. I also remember those days well. WoD, GURPS, Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, TORG, Palladium games, CoC, different versions of Traveller...these were all relatively popular. Many groups would play multiple systems. D&D on the other hand was...

D&D 5E (2024) New One D&D Playtest Shows Us The New Druid & Paladin

on size and scouting: does it by RAW, or is it more an interpretation? With these you can make WIS based stealth checks. The loss of the animal HP is a huge, huge nerf in play. And the so-so stats don’t make up for it.

D&D 5E (2024) New One D&D Playtest Shows Us The New Druid & Paladin

It’s not that much simpler. And with many of the relevant monsters in the back of the phb or mm, the 2014 version is not that complicated.

D&D 5E (2024) New One D&D Playtest Shows Us The New Druid & Paladin

Up thread some are implying that the new wild shape is not for out of combat use. It definitely remains useful out of combat. It’s in combat that is the problem!

D&D 5E (2024) New One D&D Playtest Shows Us The New Druid & Paladin

It’s a nerf for the Druid. Wildshape is weaker. Nothing makes up for it. But no nerf for the paladin. Obviously the least popular class is the one you nerf!

D&D 5E (2024) D&D Survey Results and The Future of Playtest | Unearthed Arcana

Aardling is out (Yay!) because it scored badly on the survey and Goliath--with more giant flavor--is in because it did well. Thats it.

    Nerd Immersion interviews Kyle Brink

When the OGL rumors started pre-leak, I think we assumed something like this for 1D&D. All moot now. But this... Is almost certainly the strategy. How they treat other VTTs remains a big question. For example, Roll20 just announced more integration of DMsGuild material. So still nice, so far.

What's the WORST Star Wars movie?

Solo and the Last Jedi are so incredibly bad. Which makes the results so far interesting.

D&D General Joe Manganiello’s Dungeons and Dragons table delivery is a sight to behold.

“Developing a tv show” wchich may or may not be Dragonlance related. And there is that documentary, so many years in the making.

    Star Wars Rewatch

It was disappointing all those years ago, and it has multiple issues, but it looks better after watching the sequels.

ToV Project Black Flag Design Notes #1

I like it. All pointing the right direction and lots of hints that she sees what the problem areas are. It’s a competition, but an asymmetric one, KP may be the underdog but for BF to be a success doesn’t require anything remotely like the sales that the 1d&d team will need to show.

Sing to me, O Muse, of BECMI!

B/X...with the adventure in each, and the adventures have key additional material for the DM....remains one of the best versions of the game. RC is fine. C is fine. Low number B and X modules are great (as are some of the others). Splurge, get a bunch of stuff (if you can somehow get a B or X...
