D&D 5E (2014) Amazon US book sales rank.

It was strong out of the gate. Then staid there. The problem is that our mods made this Frankenstein thread out of other threads where the posts are out of order with the wrong dates: https://www.enworld.org/threads/5es-initial-raw-sales-numbers-stronger-than-3es.662460/ There are probably...

It feels much slower. Can lightning strike twice?

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 D&D: now available for the rest of us

I just wish it worked better! But I assume they will make full support for 2014 and the ability to mix the two a selling point.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 D&D: now available for the rest of us

roll20 HAS default mix and matching. Its sort of a mess. They have actually fixed some things in the last 12 hours, but the new 2024 and 2014 character sheet/builder is not where the just 2014 oner is (as its still there).

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 PHB errata thread

Yes far too many. I think the problem is more the language on drawing or just wielding then on dual-wielding, but hopefully clarification comes.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 PHB errata thread

Does that thread help? I am also reading it differently then a lot of posts there. Or is it more errata?

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 PHB errata thread

The Roll20 2024 PHB incorporates the (stealth) errata. Which implies blindness/deafness is transmutation, as that is how it appears on the Roll20 one. Edit: but there is no errata for stealth (hiding).

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 D&D: now available for the rest of us

2024 PHB now available through all channels. Curious to hear about non-US retail (which I will also be checking) and Amazon delivery. Live on roll20. Full char sheet should be working in about 90 minutes. At this moment beta seems to have all options but is still very buggy. 2014 works just as...

    The Unseasons of Autumn

Certainly (un)seasonal. These are your own Dolmenwoodesqe creations.?

D&D 5E (2014) Almost at the end of Vecna: Eve of Ruin

Sorta of the Grognard. Real challenge is getting the great lakes/northern plains accent just right.

D&D General Making something like a 2014 5e Community Patch

2014 d&d is the biggest edition of all time and dwarfs anything else right now. So those that stay behind will probably be bigger than any other rpg fanbase, except 2024 fans. So ya, could be a good idea.

D&D General My thoughts on The Making of Original Dungeons and Dragons and a Query...

So there is Swords and Wizardry... But what is the proposal? What does "5e" mean in this context? There is certainly room for something stripped back or more old school in flavor, but what would it be?

D&D General An Overview of Furry-Friendly D&D/Pathfinder/OSR Settings

Rakasta, riding Sabre tooth tigers, are definitely in Ilse of Dread. (along with a nefarious spider race) Both are in Castle Amber, and one of the lawful Ambers has given himself a dogs head. These were popular modules, so you could say that furries featured prominently, in at least the B/X...

D&D General Will you play the Revised 2024 rules?

Yes and no! Will do a clean test of 2024 but will also take a D&D break at some point. I am guessing now. (So really yes, no, maybe)

And it’s been out a decade. For any other game book, that’s not a bad number. But yes, we will see.

Do you need or prefer physical dice when playing?

We can look to real gaming for some insight. If want to touch actual dice, cards, or wheel at a casino, you gotta risk more. In D&D you can roll those for bones without risking anything. Except your characters life.

D&D General Short vs Long Rests and 5.24E

It would be great to a complete list of resting shifts—some of which go the other way to long rests. There are also the fast rest abilities for warlock and monk. Overall it should help. I may still keep my houserule that the first short rest is only 20 minutes, and that long rests require...

D&D 5E (2014) So, I kind of want to stay with 2014 rules. What are my longterm options?

It was…is…the most popular edition of all time. There should be others like you and ways to find books, etc. Also 2024 will have some backwards compatibility to it, for example for adventures. You should be ok.

    D&D 5E (2024) So IS it a new edition?

I think people are tired of the discussion, but only just waking up to the real implications. There will be 2014 tables, 2024 tables, and a whole variety of permutations in between.
