Dragon 382 - Winning Races: Dusk Elf

Wouldn't work. In PoLand, the authorities are aware that the experience points from a crime spree can sometimes cause a thief to change tint, sprout wings, ascend to godhood, etc.

Dragon 382 - Winning Races: Dusk Elf

I like both the article and the possibility that we will see more "subraces" handled in this manner. More of a "reskinning" than a whole new race . . . makes a lot of sense. I'd like to see the half-eladrin handled in the same manner, actually --- a variant half-elf with a new feat chain and...

ALCHEMIST in Resa & Kiel article

It's just sort of old news at this point. Typo noted, consensus reached.

Wild Shape, Spirit Companions, and Flight

Tell me if this is correct . . . Neither wild shaped druids nor spirit companions gain any special movement abilities as a result of the form they take. So my swarm druid who turns into a swarm of bees tries to fly over a pit . . . and he falls. My eagle spirit companion might be visualized...

    The Vistani Return

These inspired me to get out "Van Richten's Guide to the Vistani" for the first time in ten years or so. Great book, and great articles. Gypsies are the new pirates.

    Waiting for the Seeker

Although this sounds interesting, it's also a strange and narrow niche. "Ranged divine controller" doesn't necessarily conjur up a broad range of character builds, at least to me. I sort of felt that way about swordmages, too, but gish classes have deep roots in this game . . . "Zen archer"...

Primal Power Excerpt: The Swarm Druid

One potential bit of oddness --- movement. Is your movement at all affected by the fact that you are a cloud of bees? Do you still "walk"? Fall into holes? Sink in water? Make an Athletics check to climb walls?

Primal Power Excerpt: The Swarm Druid

I just like the idea of guy who screams, "I AM MADE OF BEES!" and then turns into bees and shoots bees at people and so forth. Also . . . a myrmidon. Fighter / druid hybrid who turns into a swarm of ants. Cool.

    DMG2 Excerpt: Companion Characters

It's nice that they are upfront about certain abilities --- extra senses, flight, etc. --- being gamebreakers. In 3rd Edition, the tendency would've been to let you play a flying character, but with an ECL that crippled his effectiveness.

    DMG2 Excerpt: Companion Characters

Fascinating article. Maybe a first step toward "monster" PCs? I'm running an occasional one-shot for my brother-in-law and his two young sons . . . my thought is to maybe give each of the boys a companion, and have dad play a leader character. That way, the boys get to do most of the cool...

Wizards of the Coast, Retract Your Fan Site Policy - Signatures What's funny to me is that when you click to see the names of the (two so far) signatories, you get the following ad: Search For Sex Offenders Are Sex Offenders Living In Your Neighborhood? Find Out Now - Free! Seriously, man...

Big list of feats for SW Saga?

Trying to put together a modern era one shot using SW Saga Edition. Does anyone know of a master list of feats from the various sourcebooks?

4th Edition for low-magic historical gaming

I'd like to run a one-shot for my young nephews that could pass as educational. Leaning towards a Crusades-era game, where they play young squires (who get knighted at the end). Any PC magic has to be subtle and ambiguous. Now the squires are easy enough . . fighters, or fighter hybrids with...

    D&D for children

Just DM'd for my brother-in-law and his boys, ages 8 and 10. It's nice to have an older player working with the DM to make it a good experience for the kids. I've encouraged the dad to play a warlord or other leader next time --- keep the kids in the spotlight, let dad use his actions to...

    Fochlucan Lyrist

I'd be interested in seeing that build. Let's see . . . for a bard / warden, you'd want high Charisma and Strength, and both have Con as a secondary ability. For a bard / druid . . . I guess that Cha/Wis bard from Arcane Power would be the starting point. This would give you a ranged-weapon...

    Fochlucan Lyrist

Warrior, thief, spy, poet, woodland champion -- the Fochlucan lyrist is a legendary figure who serves as the herald and teacher to great kings, the champion of the common folk, and the keeper of lore long forgotten elsewhere. Only the best and brightest are invited to become Fochlucan lyrists...

    Animal PCs?

I'm going to host a one-shot for my young nephews and their dad. One of the notions I had was for the boys to play elf or eladrin brothers and their dad could play . . . the dog. Or wolf, or sidthe-hound. Something like that. My thought is to use all of the "beast form" keyworded druid...

    Hybrid Monks: I know kung-fu

Only thing I'm looking forward to more than monks are hybrid monks. That's how you do a kung fu campaign, boys. Monk/Fighter, Monk/Rogue, Monk/Ranger, Monk/Barbarian . . . heck, do monk / druid and do this five-animals style RIGHT.
