Gleemax Terms of Use - Unacceptable

If your idea is so valuable, don't give away your idea on a damn message board. Develop it, publish it, and sell it. Message boards are great for brainstorming, but don't give away your "intellectual property" if you really plan to sell it.

Gleemax Terms of Use - Unacceptable

Good point regarding the Valar Project, but I have never seen that as the egregious attack on free speech that some folks perceive. BoEF still saw print, just without the d20 logo or any other overt links between Hasbro / WotC and The Big Book of Elf Porn. As an attorney, all I see is some...

Gleemax Terms of Use - Unacceptable

    1. As someone else pointed out, they've had similar language on their message boards for some time. 2. Filing a lawsuit and avoiding early dismissal are two different things. Getting a suit thrown out on a motion for summary judgment is the next best thing to avoiding the suit altogether. 3...

Will There Be a New Indiana Jones RPG?

Seems pretty unlikely. Would've been announced by now. Unlike Star Wars, which is a very specific brand of space opera with a unique set of assumptions, Indy is more of a straightahead adventure pulp / cliffhanger homage, and probably a lot easier to model with any modern(ish) ruleset. A...

A couple of ideas for adapting the SAGA rules

Suggested rule --- the bonus skill at 1st level for being human can be ANY skill, not limited to your class skills, and your level feats (at 1st, 3rd, 6th, etc) can also be Skill Training for ANY skill. Just a quick way to keep the skills lists flexible without requiring multiclassing.

    D&D 4E 4E FRCS Cover: NOOOOOOOOOO!

Thanks. Seriously, the way he's been statted most recently, Drizzt is just a moderately underequipped, suboptimally built high level (upper teens) character with some good ability scores. Many PCs will have heard rumors of him, few will have met him, and he has better things to do than follow...

    D&D 4E 4E FRCS Cover: NOOOOOOOOOO!

Of course they have Drizzt. In addition to being a tremendously popular character, he is a rather good example of what a young adventurer in the Realms can aspire to become. No Chosen of Mystra whoo-hah, just a few flavorful magic items, a certain degree of fame, and some recurring bad guys...

    Sense-of-Wonder Travel Campaign?

There’s a great book called the Encyclopedia of Imaginary Places, which covers a huge number of fictional locales. I’ve thought that there’s a great “real world” campaign waiting to happen there...maybe a Victorian era campaign in a steampunk submarine a la Nemo, traveling from Atlantic to...

    SWSE as Sword and Sorcery

Well, that makes more sense. I've been out of the d20 loop lately. Now, something like SUPER FIGHT WIZARD IDENTITY ASSUME GAME!, that's catchy. You can use that if you want. That's my gift to you. ;)

A couple of ideas for adapting the SAGA rules

Yeah, I think that four class approach might be the ticket. Maybe mix in occupations from d20 Modern so the list of class skills doesn't become too restrictive. Tech Op The Tech Op would get all the Renegade Tech talents (from the SW web supplement), and Jury Rig, and probably Educated (from...

A couple of ideas for adapting the SAGA rules

I loves me some Star Wars SAGA rules. I've had a couple of thoughts lately about rejiggering the rules for some other genres... 1. I'd like to adapt the Jedi class and make it a Martial Artist class for a chop-socky one-shot, borrowing generously from "Blood and Fists" and "Martial Arts...

    SWSE as Sword and Sorcery

"Fantasy Concepts Campaign Resources" Man, that's a bland title for an interesting project. Gneech, you did some nice work. I hope to see updated versions down the line.

    Call of Cthulhu d20!

Hey, I still have a copy of CoC d20 in excellent condition I'd sell for about $50, if anyone's interested. Baby needs a new pair of shoes. Seriously.

    Other SAGAs?

I just watched the trailer for "Forbidden Kingdom" and wondered if Wuxia SAGA would work...make up a martial artist class/classes and use "Blood & Fists" as a starting point for some bonus feats and talent trees.

    Other SAGAs?

Gneech --- Really nice job on that Swords & Sorcery SAGA. Wish I had a chance to try it out, but the gaming opportunities are few and far between lately.

Campaign idea: The Sons of Hercules!

Snagged it yesterday. There's some good stuff in there. I'm not sure that it's the smartest way to go, but for the purposes of a one-shot, I could see making all of these guys essentially the Steve Reeves Hercules and play off the idea that each of these guys is used to being the World's...

Campaign idea: The Sons of Hercules!

I'd kitbash some sort of SAGA influenced D&D 3.5 just for the occasion, probably. Boost most of the starting traits by +4, give everyone Divine Rank 0, and be generous with additional special traits to differentiate the heroes. Conan would be interesting, although perhaps a bit gritty...

Campaign idea: The Sons of Hercules!

The Sons of Hercules! would be an homage to the sword-and-sandals movies that came out of Italy in the late 50s and 60s, usually starring Steve Reeves or another bodybuilder as a Classical Age superhero, smiting evil and posing impressively and speaking in a rich baritone. Since RPGs have an...

    Define some genres

Forgive my thread necromancy. This is the greatest thread ever, and I want all the kids to see it and learn from it. WOLDPUNK From Philip Jose Farmer's Wold Newton. Planetary would be a contemporary example, as would League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and the Anno Dracula series (and...

    Call of Cthulhu d20!
