That is indeed a neat idea, but the monk seems like good starting point for a sort of weaponized yogi build. That bear barbarian might reach similar results, though.

I mean, it's 2020, I can Google it, I can click the links, sure. It's just always interesting that whatever nerd stuff you're into, there's probably this other nerd stuff that is closely related, but you have just never gotten around to it.

After decades of nerdery, it's still strangely thrilling to see something like "1960s Franco-Belgian adventure comics" and say, I have no idea what the hell they are talking about.

Or a party made up of the Steve Reeves Hercules (underdressed, rich baritone), the Kevin Sorbo Hercules (unarmed, roving do-gooder), the Dwayne Johnson Hercules (mercenary with a questionable backstory of divine parentage), and the Disney Hercules (overgrown man-child / pro athlete metaphor).

I'm thinking a reverse Achilles kinda thing. Folk Hero Oath of Glory Paladin. He actually wants a simple life as a fisherman / family man, but his fate is such that he must go forth, walk the earth, and do great deeds . . . and maybe someday, if the Fates are satisfied, he can finally know peace.

So is everyone else thinking centaur College of Eloquence bard with kind of Frasier Crane / Major Charles Emerson Winchester III pompous sophisticate thing? Because it's hard to nail that mid-Atlantic accent.

Actually, the inquisitive rogue might be a decent take on a philosopher-sage. Pump up that Intelligence and Wisdom.
