Cubicle 7 Also Announces A New 'C7d20' System

Zvornik was a beautiful little town split across an epic river. But, political geography after the war being what it is, it's not Bosnia these days; it's in Republika Srpska. Which is a very, very different place than BiH.

Cubicle 7 Also Announces A New 'C7d20' System

That's a rather exhaustive examination of the equivalencies in what amounts to a single game, and would be worthy of an academic examination, to be sure. But since I'm only guest lecturing in someone else's class, I wouldn't have final say in adding it. The focus isn't rpgs specifically, merely...

I do have those kind of posts, to be sure.

Cubicle 7 Also Announces A New 'C7d20' System

Cleansing, it was called thirty years ago. Sarajevan reader here. I find the use of the term not offensive, but highly problematic. It was coined to be incredibly pejorative by cultures with long histories of colonization through cultural hegemony. Other words could be used to better effect and...

What's Pendragon like and what is it suited for?

Decades back, the husband played in a long-running Pendragon campaign with a motley sort of folk from the SCA. More recently--few years back--we reskinned the setting to the Slavic lands during the reign of the Ottoman Empire. An excellent system that perhaps gets overlooked because of how...

I really don't think it should be called the "ORC license"

From 1958-2021, Ketchup was a registered trademark of Heinz (used specifically since 1869). And the company still legally contests they own the trademark for it.

I really don't think it should be called the "ORC license"

I don't think I even knew Ketchup® (or catsup) existed until I was in my mid-twenties. Unlike American-styles of pizza, it wasn't part of the necessary food groups I missed out on.

I really don't think it should be called the "ORC license"

Ketchup is an abomination of cuisine.

I really don't think it should be called the "ORC license"

Say "the sky appears blue" to someone in the rpg community and someone else will find offense in use of the Noun, the Verb, or the Adjective, or some combination therein. And then there are the Article purists who take exception to the method of its use. And what of the other parts of grammar...

    Free RPG Day Announced!

It's not new games we need to discover, it's more hidden allotments of time to play the old ones.

RPG Crowdfunding News – Nirvana on Fire, Western 5e, Preposterous Potions, and more

Which is the decent human response to such information. Alas, a percentage of kickstarter gimmedats backers feel their gaming desires are more important than a creator-and-spouse's fatal cancer: Let's file lawsuits against Anders because he spent time with Tove while she died of cancer instead...

RPG Crowdfunding News – Nirvana on Fire, Western 5e, Preposterous Potions, and more

If only it were released to the public. Medical issues and terrible loss of an author/spouse has kept this away from would-be players. We've played it sporadically, and it is--by far--the best Western game written. But not being available is a rather insurmountable barrier to playing it.

Your "In a Perfect World, I'd be playing X" Roleplaying Campaign

With the caveat that my choice is one that--via the physical laws of our consensually hallucinated real world cannot happen--I would say I wish we could play our homebrewed multi-era campaign based on Blue Öyster Cult's Imaginos using the English-translation of Nephilim. I say it cannot ever...

Blade Runner rpg - having trouble getting sucked in

Just the same as great novel material doesn't mean great film material, what makes for great story in a film does not necessarily translate to an rpg. On this point, I completely agree with Emirikol that the game falls short of its IP title. While it is indeed a common theme in Cyberpunk to be...

General Player Principles for Better Play

When folks are havering about committing to action, one player in our usual group usually says something like, "Don't ask me to join the bandwagon of your own uncertainty." And then they do something to move the collective story forward.

    Modiphius' Conan TTRPG Is Ending

Except for where they got self-conscious to appease an audience that wasn't in the market for buying Conan books anyway. After that, the line seemed to wane a bit. I feel the complete collection is wanting with the decision to not publish Spear and Fang. Curiously, of the 4 or 5 titles we...

    Modiphius' Conan TTRPG Is Ending

As a postcolonial scholar friend likes to quip, "There are only two countries in the world... America. And Not-America."

    Modiphius' Conan TTRPG Is Ending

Based on Moorcock's own comments, I believe that license ended around 2007. Moorcock and Chaosium never had a great relationship.
