Growing up in northern Illinois it was pop. Living in the southeast for decades now it has become soda. At some places with serve yourself beverages where tea is an option, I might say fountain drink (even if the tea doesn't come from the place the rest do).

I can handle folks who often seem abrupt, repetitive, rude, and/or strident, or who rarely provide things that provoke me to think, or who are often on the other side of the discussions that have sides... but at some point being all three just makes me not want to be here when I have to keep...
