I find myself extremely intrigued by this, and would like to add my name to the interested list. I've got a few possible ideas for a Rogue I'd like to play; but I'll need to work at the details a bit. We'll see what I can come up with today.
Welp, I'm back from GenCon, and all unpacked and relaxed from my flight. I had an incredible time, just like last year, and picked up a nice pile of swag. RangerWickett, MatthewJHanson it was a real pleasure meeting you in person :D
I can't think of a single person I've ever gamed with who'd tolerate a rule like that. If I even proposed a rule like that in one of my games; they'd rightfully kick me out and get a new DM.
My group's almost done with the Fire Forest, just two more sessions; I'm thinking, and I have to say, everybody is having a great time with these modules; even moreso because we're using Fantasy Grounds.
I'd never used it before; but it's amazing how much smoother sessions go when the...
I'll be there! Not sure if I'll have time for a game or not; maybe on the Sunday, my schedule for then will either be completely packed, or completely free. Thursday to Saturday are booked solid, save for a few empty slots to browse the exhibits.
Hmm... a quick and dirty method would be to have Stanfield unavailable for a period of time. Have him called away to the Capitol for a meeting with the king and other nobility, perhaps concerning the upcoming peace conference and how the recent disasters in Flint will affect it? And then shorten...
Reaching this point must have been incredibly satisfying; given how much time was spent on building up to it and work put in by the characters to make sure everything was prepared! I just hope I can pull off something equally awesome in one of my campaigns.
They're nifty, and I'm going to be copying them; but I personally prefer the whole newspaper format that you did for the second adventure, rather than separate articles; and I'm currently working on one for Digging for Lies. My players got a real kick out of reading it.
I'll note that while I usually do show the portraits, I won't be when I run Always on Time for the reasons you stated. Instead, I'll save them for an appropriate, dramatic moment when a character's importance becomes obvious.
Incidentally, for my fellow Pathfinder GMs, I recently came across the Road to Revolution Campaign; and I think it's going to make an excellent source to get intermission session adventures from. They seem to be perfect to give the feel of RHC investigations in the city of Flint.
The Road to...
Also, my advice would be to try to limit kills on people in custody. After MacBannin and Kaja's deaths in my campaign; my PC's have grown incredibly leery about bringing in prisoners; and don't fully trust the prison; which might make the finale of Digging for Lies trickier to set up for me.
In...
In hindsight; if I were to run the puzzle room again, I'd remove the monsters in the room until about halfway through the puzzle. I think the army of mutant centipedes crawling through the pit were what tipped my group over the edge to find another way around; they didn't want to risk the fight...
That's what happened with my group. They opened the door to the Rainbow room, I described it... then they closed the door and went around through the other passage.
I gave them the vision and the clue when they went into the map room from the other side.
