    D&D 5E (2014) GWM+Longbow

Personally, I'm not adding the Heavy trait to a bulky/heavy wagon wheel or dead goblin when used as an improvised weapon, so I'm definitely not ruling that a longbow retains the Heavy property if used as an improvised weapon. Heck, a longbow is arguably easier for a gnome to use as a big stick...

    D&D 5E (2014) Free D&D Adventure from Kobold Press

Since I already have an Amazon account, I checked out using the Amazon Pay option. Aside from needing a password to create the new KP account, that method worked fine-- and no need for typing in billing info.

    D&D and the rising pandemic

How does anyone think they can get away with something like that? It'd be more honest to just not release the data under some bogus claim of "state secrets" or something nonsensical like that. It's stunning the lengths some offices are going to to keep people in the dark. .

D&D 5E (2014) Would you buy a Dark Sun setting book for 5e?

I like DarkSun. Voted "probably yes, but wait for reviews," because that's how I make pretty much any purchase.

    D&D 5E (2014) Levitate is a save-or-die spell

The physics of levitate gets really interesting when you throw a decanter of endless water into the mix.

I'm pretty sure that's a bonafide Natural Law.

    D&D 5E (2014) CoS: Blood Spear OP?

There's probably a squirrel-pelt-clad Inevitable out there for just this purpose.

    D&D 5E (2014) CoS: Blood Spear OP?

I'm just saying the classic "bag of rats" is not RAW, at least not so far as one could stack up infinite arbitrarily large THP (or whatever resource). The worst RAW exploit would just be to kill a few squirrels til a 12 is rolled.

    D&D 5E (2014) CoS: Blood Spear OP?

An exploit works within RAW. A cheat woks outside RAW. There really is no "bag of rats" aspect on this THP issue, by RAW, so that's a cheat, not an exploit. Of course, real life often rewards people who cheat the system, too, so there's that.

    D&D 5E (2014) CoS: Blood Spear OP?

My read of the rule is that you replace the old 2 thp with the 9 new ones. The verbiage in the rule refers to the thp you "have", not the ones you initially rolled.

    D&D 5E (2014) CoS: Blood Spear OP?

Temp HP don't add; they basically just "overwrite" each other: https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/basic-rules/combat#TemporaryHitPoints So every time you make a kill with the spear, roll the temp hp gained, and take that number if it's greater than your current temp hp.

    D&D 5E (2014) Terrible Titles for a Xanathar Follow-up

    D&Detox

Personally, I've found that watching a few videos of others playing a game using that ruleset helps me grasp game flow and player responsibilities. It's never taken a whole lot of time to get the "aha!" moment, usually just two or three sessions. (It's also nice just to grasp basic rules...
