EN World What you thought a thread title said.

What’s your perfect Star Trek crew?

Only in TOS. In TNG helm and navigation is one console, and the other (usually manned by Data) is Operations, which organises most ship functions not covered by Tactical and Engineering. It's closely analaguous to the Science Officer role in TOS, which also doesn't exist in TNG (neither does...

Spoilers SW: Skeleton crew discussion thread

Given that At Attin was making the currency for the Old Republic, and what we know about the New Republic's competency, I'm guessing that the most likely outcome will be a years-long debate/dispute/committee-investigation as to who the money actually belongs to, by the end of which, yes, they'll...

    D&D 5E (2014) The "General Nature" of a Trap

Make it a concentration-based cantrip that lasts a long time (call it an hour, but you can just re-cast it). When you get within a certain range of a trap, say 30 feet, you get a 'pulse' alerting you to its presence, but you gain no information as to its nature or location. You can choose to...

    D&D General Which BG3 companion?

Karlach is top pick as she's just fun to be around, though I certainly couldn't do her justice portraying her as an NPC.

Spoilers SW: Skeleton crew discussion thread

The barrier jams outgoing transmissions, but it might not block all incoming signals. There could have been a channel set up that wasn't jammed, specifically for receiving secure messages.

Spoilers SW: Skeleton crew discussion thread

A very nice ending to the series. Good to see the New Republic pulling their weight, including some actual production-line B-Wings using the prototype Bladewing's composite-beam lasers. I guess they finally worked the bugs out.

    OOTS 1317: Rescued

Mismatch between eye colour and speech bubble colour on two of the robed guys, can't remember from previous scenes with them whether that's deliberate.

Planescape Help out a Clueless - Returning to the Material Plane from Sigil?!

Yeah, it's kinda convenient that way. I'm currently playing a Descent into Avernus campaign, and have used banishment a couple of times on friendly targets as a means of freeing them from the plane.

Planescape Help out a Clueless - Returning to the Material Plane from Sigil?!

So basically, 1. Find a portal to take you to literally any other planar location that isn't dimensionally locked, and then 2. Get someone to cast banishment on you and fail the save.

    D&D 5E (2024) Why aren't Angels concidered a type of Empryeans?

Plenty of lore has gods being able to create all sorts of unrelated living beings. Empyreans and Angels having to necessarily be the same "species" just because both were created by gods doesn't really track.

    D&D 5E (2014) Building A Campaign Around The BBEG

The great saviour of the last age, who defeated the dread evil that threatened the world and set all to rights. Only a select few, including the PCs, know that this is a facade and this 'saviour' is a tyrant in disguise, and proving it to the world at large would be an extraordinarily difficult...

    D&D 5E (2014) Baldur's Gate 3 needs more short companions!

That would have been my first guess.

Spoilers SW: Skeleton crew discussion thread

Perhaps. Clearly the barriers aren't impregnable given what happened to the other Ats, but whether one frigate is enough is hard to tell. He may need to ask for the barrier to be disabled. After his talk with Wim in which he quoted some Jedi doctrine, it seemed that although he was twisting its...

Spoilers SW: Skeleton crew discussion thread

Whether he has or not, he had to assume that there wasn't much chance he'd be able to bluff his way off-planet with a hold full of credits. Heh, that's what I guessed around episode 2 or 3. Not so sure I buy it anymore, though.

Spoilers SW: Skeleton crew discussion thread

Hostages, presumably. He wants to get the bigger ship through the barrier, because he's so wealth-obsessed that just stuffing the Onyx Cinder with enough credits to buy his own moon isn't enough for him, and he also doesn't want to be trapped there, so he needs leverage.

Spoilers SW: Skeleton crew discussion thread

No, they shot at X-Wimgs and barely grazed one. The Barrier took out the fighters. Certainly ruthless, but an excellent way to demonstrate that they took the wrong hostage.

Spoilers SW: Skeleton crew discussion thread

I agree about the first, but not the second. I don't know why so many people are focused on the mysterious Supervisor - the only reason to hide the face on that recording is if it's a face we would recognise from somebody we've already met, most likely on At Attin. EDIT: Unless it's someone...
