OOTS 1316: Reflection of a Reflection

A sad consequence of the release rate of this webcomic is that I have only the vaguest recollection of who this guy was and what his deal is, even with the exposition layered into the dialogue.

    Mando season 3

Random thought: It'd be a cool closed-loop of Star Wars / D&D crossover if it was mentioned that the Mind Flayer machines were originally developed by the Quarren.

They don't know anything about the X-Wings beyond what they've seen - they've just identified them as "good guys" from context.

A fair amount of time certainly, long enough to have become overgrown and long enough for its captain's lair to have been turned into a spa destination. But not so long that the captain's legend has faded into obscurity - there wasn't a pirate in the room who didn't know every word of the rhyme...

Offbeat theory: The real reason SM-33 said to never, ever use the hull destruction sequencer is that he's the one who has to put all the bits back on afterwards to re-disguise the ship when needed.

It's got the shiny, but Naboo ships are also defined by smooth blended curves and very few straight lines. This one was all flat panels. With its vectored aft jets, if anything it has hints of Mandalorian design features.

Yeah, finally a bit of character development for KB. True, but it seemed to be in the back of the spaceport area, maybe it's not overlooked from the public areas. And very authentically Star Wars style, consistently entirely of parts you'd be able to scavenge in a 1970s electrical repair shop...

He knew it because he'd heard him tell it to himself when he was past Doctor.

True, and I realised after I'd posted that I'd forgotten about Spectre 7. One idea that kept playing in my head was if Wim's dad was the captain, and his passed-away mother was the concubine. But the dad seems way too not-cool under pressure for that to be the case.

Why would they need to? It's a whole planet. Just because they have a singular focus doesn't mean they necessarily lack all the skillsets and resources to grow their society along with the population, or even if they do, there are always droids to put in the work. Having a mixture of species...

Spoilers 'Joy To The World' -- Doctor Who Xmas Special 2024

I liked the Doctor's collection of TARDIS models and memorabilia. Are they just police box models in-universe, or has the TARDIS been spotted around the world enough times that there's a subculture dedicated to it? The Doctor's reaction to being handed a sink plunger was fun. If the Time Hotel...

I kind-of assumed it was set up to supplement or replace whatever minting facilities were already in place, not that it was the first and only mint for Republic credits. I guess we'll see.

Spoilers SW: Skeleton crew discussion thread

So, if At Attin was supposed to be a galactic mint, was it only supposed to stay secret until it established itself as such, or was it meant to continue staying hidden? Because I find it a little harder to believe that a planet can stay hidden when there are regular shipments of a galaxy's worth...

The TARDIS doesn't just come when it's called, it's not a puppy. Actually, I get strong cat vibes from it.

Yes, he's certainly at least passingly familiar with some of the tenets of the Jedi code, though he clearly doesn't set much stock in them. Incidentally, I noticed the other day that the first reference to the "old Republic" is in Episode IV, when Tarkin announces the dissolution of the Senate...

D&D 5E (2024) Seeking input re: Dwarves Riding Bears.

Couldn't resist To actually contribute something useful, maybe there's a logistical reason for using bears in the region - like, maybe a lot of medium predators, such as wolves, that horses would be panicked by, but are in turn unlikely to try to take on multiple bears. Or maybe there are...

The great thing about these mounts is that you don't need saddles - you can just ride bear-back.

EN World What you thought a thread title said.

Casino Royale: Battle of the Scrooges "The name's Scrooge. Ebenezer Scrooge." "I guess there was more of grave than of gravy about him." "That's how I prefer my spirits - shaken, not stirred." "Well, he's the ghost of Christmas Absent now."

Christmas Battle Royale: Battle of the Scrooges

Familiarity? Caine's performance is, in fact, the only one of those listed that I can clearly recall having seen. I think I may have seen Stewart's at some point, but more just clips rather than the whole thing, and I'm sure I caught the odd Duck Tales episode here and there but I was never a fan.
