Charging with 5' because you ran the previous round?

If a PC on the first round moves about 30' in a straight line, and on the next round (with 5' between himself and his opponent) wants to charge, would you allow it? I, as DM, said no, but my player insists that he should get the charge because he is continuing on a straight path. I can...

Players leaving the group: parting gift?

I like the idea of an adventure log, but here's a variation: Give it a twist with a, "This is Your Life," kind of flair. Have each player write a page or so journal describing the departing PC and tell about their most memorable moments, both embarassing and proud, happy and sad, angry and...

    Happy GM's Day!

Don't we have one of these already? :) Gaming, of course! And painting minis, and planning my DM session, and warming up to Savage Species so I can run something next gameday (Chicago gameday that is), and then maybe writing something in my workbook of character and plot ideas. In short, just...

    Darklands

My favorite part was the character creation. Much more realistic than D&D IMO. I still mention it in other threads once in a while. I've considered working on a conversion of the character creation system, but I don't know if any of my players would go for it.

Uses of the new 3e MM & MMII monsters?

I used the Durzagon (fiendish duergar dwarf) as a duergar boss. But, I did change his "beard" weapon into a bite. Beard weapon?! What the heck were they thinking?! A well placed soften earth spell by a party member kept him from making his getaway. I'm going to use a chain golem soon in my...

    Dungeon Magazine Quality Drop?

So do they no longer take any unpublished author's submissions? It's a sad thing to see the people who built the backbone of Dungeon turned away like this. This is definitely going to change my view of Paizo if it's true.

    Spiked Chain Miniature

They moved the pics for the spiked chain warrior, but check out the dwarf wizard's familiar! I gotta get it! :)

    Dungeon Magazine Quality Drop?

Poor editing, while it CAN be worked around easily, is a sign of poor quality control by either the author, or the editors. While this isn't academia, I do think gamers deserve to be buying a product that is free of defects when it comes to game mechanics and typos. Any editor who can't keep...

Visit the Valley of the Kings

Theban Mapping Project is a great resource for anybody interested in Egyptian tombs. Don't forget to explore all the tabs at the top, and play the mini-movies of each section. I wish there were more sites like this one!

Apologies to Quickbeam for misidentifying him, and my thanks for the additional names. I think I got most of it straight now. I suppose I am probably missing a lot of the RPGnet guys now that I think of it.

    Online mini's stores?

Fantization is one of the best, IMO. They've even fulfilled a personal shipping request for me, such as using bubblewrap. It's probably only fair to allow 48hrs before you begin panicking about anything. Fantization doesn't backorder, so chances are good that your order has shipped if it's...
