An Open Letter to Dragon and Dungeon Readers

Let us remember that they promised Dragon would be a D&D ONLY magazine. The only drawback is that now it includes a minis game that holds almost no interest from most RP gamers because they could always get that level of combat in a D&D game without new rules, and it will still include the luke...

An Open Letter to Dragon and Dungeon Readers

I do think that three quality adventures each month are enough to attract my subscription. But I don't go to Dungeon for the articles any more than I go to Dragon for the fiction. So, in the end it is something I can live with, even if I despise it. :D

An Open Letter to Dragon and Dungeon Readers

After reading the initial post, I'm excited to hear that many of the problems I've had with Dungeon/Poly be addressed. In fact, my initial reaction was to jump with joy and yell like a foreign football (aka soccer) announcer screaming, "SCOOOO...(keep going for about 30 seconds...

    Should I subscribe to DUNGEON?

Even after the announcement, I dont like the idea of articles in Dungeon. Why do you think Dragon magazine staff made the original Dungeon Magazine in the first place?! It wasn't for the articles!!! :\ It does seem they fixed most of the other problems with Dungeon.

    Pet peeves of D&D gaming

I cant resist this one, just because it has happened every game since he volunteered for it! * An intiative keeper who asks, "so, who's turn is it?" :p :p

In your campaign, which is worse: killing or stealing?

It's important to look at the motivation behind the stealing or killing. There can be good reasons to steal, and bad ones too. Stealing for the sake of greed is bad. Consider Robin Hood. If he kept the money he stole to himself and his men, then he'd be just another criminal. What he did...

    Should I subscribe to DUNGEON?

I've asked the same question myself since Paizo has made many changes to Dungeon. So, here you go: Before the conjoining of Dungeon and Poly, I was in the same boat as most Dungeon fans. I couldn't recommend the magazine enough to people who played D&D. Best gaming dollar in all of RPGs was...

    D&D Basic Set (3.5E)

If the basic set is cheap enough ($20 or less), I'll probably buy it as a gift for the kids of anybody I know, but I certainly wouldn't plan to buy it because of the minis inside.

Chicago Gameday: Read about what you missed

I've already got Mark's combat playtest in the morning slot. Although I'd probably sign up for ALL the slot 1 AND slot 2 games if it were in any way remotely humanly possible! Somebody make me a clone or 3! Oh, wait. Gotta wait for Paranoia XP (coming this August) before I can do that trick! :D

Okay, my turn. I'll put in my bid for breakfast, and some mini painting in slot 2.

Chicago Gameday: Read about what you missed

For the benefit of the Baron, I post this link, and hope Buzz and the appropriate GM's will approve. GM's please take a look. http://www.enworld.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1519729&postcount=128 *edit* Maybe I can make try this: Technically speaking, he posted it himself. I'm just flashing...

Do you use the XPH, and to what degree?

I think psionics and psionic-like abilities would work well in a modern setting. I keep thinking of the movie, "Scanners" when I think of psionics where certain people could manipulate things with their minds, or have a battle of will to dominate each other.

Are you planning on running an Eberron campaign when it comes out?

I think the question is premature at best. We have thus far only been given teasers and articles and previews, usually through the non-WotC arm called Paizo Publishing that was somehow supposed to not become a monthly billboard for WotC product articles. *sigh* Anyway, the point is...

Time Limit in Combat Rounds: Yes, or No?

Short answer: If it is YOUR TURN, then EVERYBODY is waiting on YOU. Don't wait. Say what you say or do in character, and ROLL YOUR DICE! Long answer: A 10-30 second limit to decide an action is more than fair. Thirty seconds is almost too generous even for newbies IMO. For experienced...

Which core class you never play?

The bard never inspired me, although I've seen it played by others reasonably well. It just doesn't occur to me that if I was putting together a party to go out and vanquish evil, that I'd pick the guy that took his skill points to be a musician/singer/dancer. I suppose he suffers a bit from...

Adventures in Jals County: Cyril and Simon of Holdmarch

Day 3 – Daybreak at the Farm The night was cool, and mostly uneventful until Simon spotted something moving in the bushes. After looking harder, it appeared to be an enormously large insect-like creature. It’s most prominent feature were enormous front pincers—they were as big as a persons...

Adventures in Jals County: Cyril and Simon of Holdmarch

[note: Shadowbane's post is day 3 material for my journal. I'm still catching up. ;) ] Day 2 -- Morning in Jalston My muscles still ache somewhat after the encounter last night with the Dariens. No doubt the pain would be much worse if it weren’t for the temples healing services last...

    Dungeon #111 contents

No, I checked another thread where Erik, himself, made a list of things that were changing. On that list was the commitment to not do less than two adventures per issue. I don't recall him placing any conditions such as waiting for issue #114. I think I would have remembered a condition like...
