    Armor made from Bulette hide?

I think we all saw that one coming. I hope you didn't spend too much time thinking up that one. :)

    Armor made from Bulette hide?

Don't listen to him! He's just one of the aforementioned vult....er, I mean players in my game only in pursuit of building ever-more menacing spellbooks and other treacherous deeds against his very benevolent DM!!! FIEND!!! :)

    Armor made from Bulette hide?

I should have also mentioned that the party was just interested in the retail value of armor. Also, how many suits/coats of armor would one bulette possibly generate?

    Undead recommendation

Zombies are always crowd pleasers, although not much of a threat unless they're in mass quantities. Ghouls and Ghasts are probably your best bet, but you have to be careful of the level drains...too many and your 5th level party could be screwed.

    Armor made from Bulette hide?

My players (the vultures that they are) are inquiring about the possibility of making armor from a skinned bulette hide. 1) Has anyone ever requested this? I know there are rules for making armor from dragon hide...but I can't find any general rules for fashioning armor from other beasts. 2)...

My 7th level party just killed a young adult dragon!

I did have bait to get the party to fall into (what I thought was) the dragon trap. A fighter had been guarding a relic that they were looking for and he just-so-happened to be on the island. The trap was set, half the party was confronting the fighter while the other two were set to be occupied...

My 7th level party just killed a young adult dragon!

Well, the worm drowned in the vile river of quasi-industrial waste. Think of the substance being somewhere between the East River at NYC and the Exxon Valdez spill . Two of the players jumped into the murky deep having to make fortitude checks (DC 20). Ok, one of them was the paladin..but...

My 7th level party just killed a young adult dragon!

The dragon was changed into a worm (no, not a Wyrm). I was about to call the wizard out on this question of symantics, but he clarified...worm, not wyrm. While I'm still bitter about the whole idea of being able to turn a quite formidable creature into something, the DC and save vs. was fairly...

    Twists from the norm

In my campaign, dwarves have hired elven (wood/drow)mercenaries for ambush parties in the forested areas around their stronghold.

My 7th level party just killed a young adult dragon!

For the record. Ok, I'm getting on the bus a little late in the journey, but I AM the DM who ran this game. I've found the comments quite entertaining since everyone thinks that this was s a troll. I can confirm that this was a real event. I have to comment on what had happened, because...

[Semi-OT] Gaming wear. A small survey.

Usually T-shirt and jeans. But if we're in a swashbuckling mood, I break out the puffy shirt, eye-patch, taunting the players with a cutlass...making sure all die rolls are legit.

Why don't spawning undead take over the world?

Unfortunately, the characters in the George Romero movies didn't have the luxury of having clerics or paladins in their parties. As for why it doesn't happen...I believe the greater good deities would have some "divine intervention" in the matter. It's just a matter of the delicate balance of...

    Winging It!!!!

Um...when hasn't a DM's group strayed off the carefully planned and defined path??? :) Ironically, you usually have to plan on winging it. I always have a few "What if's" planned into the game just in case the party decides to abandon saving the fair maiden and loot the town and it's inhabitants.

    Improved Critical worth it?

Considering you have over a 25% chance for a critical, even before you factor in BaB's...that's pretty lethal. A player has yet to take IC in my game, but the moment they do, the entire party better be ready for much tougher encounters.

    Nyahhh!

I was going to include necromancy with transmutation, but the thought of some horrid/goth-looking person saying, "Hey, that wound looks bad, let me help you." would make the average adventurer draw a blade in defense. I would consider a necromancer's "healing" ability as more of a preservative...

PC's fighting NPC's who are classed...

I've pretty much have had classed NPC's in my game since the get-go. After about a dozen games or so, I haven't found them to be too overly challenging, save a few who were (pardon the term) outclassed the PC's a bit too much. I will say that a DM (in general) shouldn't design NPC's taking into...

    Nyahhh!

Coincidentally, Thorntangle is playing a wizard in my current game. :) I've always wondered why at least some spellcasters couldn't do healing magic. I do understand that the "professionals" (ie Clerics) will have a distinctive edge over the non-lay person, but why couldn't a wizard...

    D&D General Testing....

5x5 I think 5x5 entered my lingo the first time I saw Aliens. The scene was when the dropship was entering the atmosphere over the planet at the pilot (Ferro) says: "We're in the pipe, 5-by-5." I had that as my Windows start-up sound for a while. :)
