Trailer Spaceballs 2: Not the Quest for More Money

Fair enough, I guess his humour isn't for everybody. I tend to quite enjoy his work and I'm hoping to see more of the Orville which I believe has been renewed for season 4. It was a great series that felt more star trek than star trek discovery.

    D&D General Categories of foes

You've kind of already said the big ones, I tend to expand goblinoids into beastmen which includes orcs, goblins, bugbears, ogres, and gnolls. Dinosaurs might be another. I don't use them much and some might be solitary but, thinking of raptors, some might be pack hunters. The leaf eaters would...

    Today I learned +

This is a small thing I learned a couple years back, not sure if it is universal. In NZ, the tags inside your t-shirts with the various washing instructions are always on the left, once I noticed, I haven't put a t-shirt on wrong since.

Trailer Spaceballs 2: Not the Quest for More Money

I'm really looking forward to the Naked Gun reboot, saw a trailer the other week and it looks like a fun watch, I've been wanting more movies with that style of comedy.

Trailer Spaceballs 2: Not the Quest for More Money

Wow, so many people didn't like he history of the world part 2? I admit that it didn't seem as good as part 1 but I still enjoyed it.

Would ACKS be a good fit to capture the BECMI-feel?

Some of the things I like about ACKS, which can easily be imported into other games: Warriors gain a scaling damage bonus starting at +1 and gaining +1 at levels 3, 6, 9, etc. This helps with the next ability, cleave, which allows warriors to make another attack every time they drop a foe...

Would ACKS be a good fit to capture the BECMI-feel?

As far as I know, 2e is just 1e with all of the extras that they have in their magazines in the main game. Basically, if you have access to 1e, you probably shouldn't feel like you need to buy 2e. It's based on BX which led into BECMI so it should feel the same as BECMI but has a cap of level...

    Should PCs Be Exceptional?

An easy example, using 3e, might have an exceptional elf using the elite stat array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8), compared with an unexceptional elf who might use the standard array (11, 11, 11, 10, 10, 10). They'd otherwise both have the same traits as an elf like low-light vision, immunity to...

    The Enterprise through the ages

I think it grew on me the more I watched it. part of what I liked about it was that it appeared more solid than the classic constitution.

    The Enterprise through the ages

I quite liked the neo-constitution from the Picard series.

What Do You Call This Popular Beverage?

Here in NZ we call them fizzy winkles named after John Winkle who brought carbonated drinks to the country in 1937.

D&D 5E (2014) Do you allow flighted Player characters to carry other Player characters?

If the flier is strong enough, I would allow it. As for attacking while being carried in flight, I'd also allow that, probably gonna be at disadvantage though. This reminded me of the faerie character (homebrew race) my friend played that was a fighter with that giant subclass. As a faerie...

D&D General Prep is Not Play. . . Or is it?

I guess the difference between prep and play can be a little nebulous, I'd definitely call it an exercise in creativity, not sure if I'd call it play but I wouldn't argue strongly against that as an interpretation especially since the following resonates with me:

    Should PCs Be Exceptional?

I prefer that they start off as typical and grow to become exceptional. Level 1 PCs are fairly common and typical representatives who later become exceptional heroes. Maybe they're slightly above typical at the start, but only slightly.

TSR Why would anyone want to play 1e?

Even from back in my early days of playing I never understood the arcane restriction on dwarves. I've always felt that they should be able to be arcane casters as that helps them with their crafting of magical items, cursing rings, and turning into dragons.

TSR Why would anyone want to play 1e?

I recall reading somewhere that 2e was meant to have ascending AC and attack bonuses but that was shot down for backwards compatibility.

D&D 5E (2024) Just realized Sentinel is heavily nerfed! No longer works with PAM, no longer works on most enemies who Disengage.

I'd definitely allow the player to switch up their feats, or at the very least, make the PAM reach attack count as an opportunity attack and halt their movement. I'm sort of less concerned about the disengage one, but maybe it would be better to just use the 2014 feats instead.

TSR Why would anyone want to play 1e?

Wow, okay. You've even laid it out clearly and there's still a lot of it I don't understand. Small wonder people didn't use it because that is confusing, alao time consuming to track all the small fiddly changes with weapons and weapon speeds.

TSR Why would anyone want to play 1e?

I've heard that 1e initiative was bad, but how bad was it really? I think some comments I've heard were that it was unusable.

D&D General The joys of playing a PC with low stats

I'm generally fine with one or two low stats, I think people don't like them since wotc editions where the stat bonuses and the standard way they are derived became more important so having a penalty is felt more by the player. In OSE I rolled a character with all average stats (10s and 11s)...
