Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe there is a cost requirement for A bastion. I haven’t looked at the official rules in detail, but there was definitely a cost in the play test rules.
I would suggest you don’t take any one image as the default standard. Many artist work these books and each one’s a different style or take on a creature. One image doesn’t reflect the design of the whole.
I think maybe you should stop calling other people‘s fun boring. Something that is boring to you is not necessarily boring to someone else. People have different ideas of what is fun.
