Is a creature still a creature when it's dead?

As a DM I would allow it on the turn you killed the enemy and not after it's sunk to lifeless corpse status on the next turn. Just because killing something and then teleporting to your next target in one fell swoop seems neat, and because I generally narrate that things don't die instantly...

    DMG2 Monster Theme

Powers that let a monster utilize an action it wasn't before (minor generally) can be a more noticeable difference in power, but in general more options leads to small amount of power increase.

    Why all the ritual hate?

What's more, breaking a door down might be a lot less of an option with a heavy stone or iron door. Once you spend the 175gp to buy the ritual, you get to keep around without it taking up space or slots or anything. As long as you have 35gp worth of components on hand and a healing surge you...

    Why all the ritual hate?

Chapter 2 of the DMG seems to think something called exploration is pretty important as well. 4e has the combat encounter and the skill challenge encounter as mechanisms, but to suggest that's the whole of the game is crazy. There's exploration, conversation, roleplaying and problem solving...

    Why all the ritual hate?

You are honestly suggesting that replacing gold in a parcel with ritual components is a houserule? I think I've figured out why rituals don't work for you at all.

    Why all the ritual hate?

Maybe you should read through the PHB Rituals chapter which mention ritual books, ritual scrolls and ritual components are all things which you might find as treasure.

    Why all the ritual hate?

Rituals have situational uses. That's the point. Sure, you're not using knock on every door. But on that door after the encounter where your rogue died it might come in handy.

    This mentality needs to die

I am 90% sure that there is a line in the rulebook somewhere that says powers affect objects at the discretion of the DM. Darkfire not melting the ice sealing door makes perfect sense to me. And with more obvious avenues readily available to melt the ice, I wouldn't be inclined to spend...

I would make an exception for such a player because such players are the exception.

Issues with Social Skills: Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate

Here's how it's handled in my game. Diplomacy is gone, it's axed, it does not exist. To talk to people you just talk. And the players play differently. The noble eladrin is chatty, eloquent, and a bit of a brat. The dwarf tends to be gruff and a little insolent. The halfling rogue prefers...

    Award or penalize

Here's the important thing. What were the players doing not the characters. If these actions were leaking out in real life, then thats a problem, a big one in fact, something that needs to be settled out of game. On the other hand if everyone is still friends and no one takes the game...

What kind of hit did DDI take a year after subscriptions started? Was it huge?

We have no data as to these numbers. Negative, positive, no one knows but wizards. Assuming it's taken some hit isn't based on any evidence.

    Scimitar Dance + Frost Weapons

"This damage receives no modifier or other benefits you normally gain on weapon damage." This seems to me to be trying to insure you're just getting the dex damage, and interpreting the rules as the damage being cold makes the feat significantly stronger, my inclination is to rule against it.

    What makes us House Rule?

I'd just like to say that I find houseruling 4e to suit the game style that me and my players desire to be easy, sure you run into issues of it not being DDI compatible, but if you're letting that stop you it might not have been a very necessary houserule. The way 4e is designed, the...
