    Tensor's Floating Disk as Travel...

I see what you're getting at here, that you can't specify which direction the disk goes, but think of it this way. It accompanies you within the range of the spell. Nowhere does it say that it follows behind you. So theoretically, this spell, who's interval from you can be set from anywhere...

    Lycanthrope ability modifiers

I believe that the raven having a 1 Str is partly because it is tiny, and not necesserily entirely racial. Thus, following table 4-2: Changes to Statistics by Size on page 291 of the 3.5 MM, you'd find a Tiny Raven that became Medium sized would gain a net +8 Str, thus having a 9 Str. Using...

    Reincarnate advice/warnings

The only time I've ever had reincarnate used in my experience was a joke-campaign where we were perpetually broke... IIRC, the player (possibly me) became a rot grub (ala KoDT). Of course, I seem to recall spending a large amount of time polymorphed into both a chicken and a purple mushroom...

    Class Imbalance?

Erm... this doesn't seem to make sense to me. If you'd play it again without changes, then it would seem to be balanced fairly closely with the other casters. If it were too far below them, you'd obviously pick another class instead... Thus, it shouldn't need anything to 'balance' it. Yeah...

5 point touch attack for any character

Humans occasionally come in the 6-fingered variety... ;)

    Ability score question...

Intelligence is the essence of quick thinking, witty comebacks, and leaps of logic. Wisdom is the ability to slowly figure things out, and come to an understanding of your surroundings that otherwise might be left out. Raistlin and Caramon from Dragonlance are prime examples. Raist always had...

    Tensor's Floating Disk as Travel...

I still don't see why a creative person couldn't do that. I mean, it's not exactly game breaking. Sure, no one ever intended the spell to be used for that, but as long as it doesn't cause damage in a collision, and can't take a character over terrain they normally couldn't walk over, why not...

    Underwater dwellers and pressure damage

"The deepest dive by a mammal was made by a bull sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) off the coast of Dominica, in the Caribbean, in 1991. Scientists from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute recorded the dive to a depth of 2,000 m (6,500 ft)." And... "The record depth for the dangerous...

Why can't you play Dragons that are older?

You can, if you use the Epic Level Handbook, and are playing in an Epic game...

Rules of the Game Part 2

[more hijack hijinks] I've always figured that if someone can't come up with an easily remembered, yet complex password, then they deserve anything they get. Mine are always 8 characters minimum, except when system administrators force me to smaller passwords(!!!). My solution to the above...

    Piearcing *and/or* Slashing ??

That depends. A Short Sword was actually dull, it was only the point that was used, iirc. Which would be why a short sword is listed as P, and a longsword is listed as S.

Spiked chain + Imp. Trip + Combat Reflexes + Enlarge Person

I remember reading something once about someone mistaking '4 armed kobolds' for a '4 armed kobold', so I decided to make one as a BBEG once... sadly, the campaign never went to completion... so I never got a chance to see how well my 4 armed kobold would do vs the party... :(

    Where cant you teleport to?

That's why you fly as well ;) Now can you imagine a wizard deciding he really didn't want to live anymore, and wanted to take a few people with him, so he decided to offer to teleport them... only he used a maximized teleport.... ;)

    Casting from a scroll

If you do the math, 1 out of 20 is equal to 5 out of 100... or 5%, as I said above. Also, I said 'almost get away with taking 20'. I am aware that you can't take 20 when there's a possibility of failure, and caster level checks are a prime example of a check that has a chance of failing. ;)

positive/negative material plane (and an energy drain question)

Well, if you put it that way, of course it's evil and wrong! I mean, that would mean Vampiric Touch was evil, since you're draining their life essence into you. And since it's necromancy, that of course means all necromancy spells are evil, right? Just like ... Astral Projection! And of course...

    Casting from a scroll

Hrm, interesting. Thanks for the rules update. *ponders* Well, I guess that means as long as you have a couple of points in Wis, or you borrow the Cleric/Monk's Wis boosting item when overcasting, you could almost get away with taking 20 on that pesky caster level check, since at most you'd be...

positive/negative material plane (and an energy drain question)

Hrm. Well, upon re-reading the thread, I noticed you said "planes aren't aligned". Well, some of them are. The Negative Energy Plane, it just so happens, isn't. (It doesn't specifically state so in the DMG 3.5, but a few planes later, it specifically states that one of the Outer Planes is mildly...

    Prismatic Wall Question

Going off core books, there's 1 that's CR15 with erm... Greater Teleport at will. Generally, that's reserved for 17+... Near Epic to me. (Yeah, many of the others have the nifty resistances, and a few immunities, but it's really the teleport at will that makes or breaks it, as at that point...

    Prismatic Wall Question

Encountering the Prismatic Spray (very similar to the wall when you're the only target available) as a high level rogue, I had no worries about the energy attacks, as even if I botched, I'd still be taking half damage, and had more than enough HP to suck it up. What got me was botching the fort...

positive/negative material plane (and an energy drain question)

*ponders a bit* Based on absolutely no rule whatsoever (unless it's buried in my subconscious and ingrained inherently in my answer), I think that they could supress their energy drain ability, provided they were intelligent. Whether someone intelligent could direct a non-intelligent undead into...
