WoW -- an Enduring Nobility thread

Been playing a warlock since December. No problems here. Great class. Very versital. A bit weak early on, but the later levels more than make up for it. All characters on Feathermoon Vaslov - Human Warlock Gwam - Gnome Rogue Daetrin - Undead Priest

    Enduring Nobility Guild Meeting

Garos and I attended something like this in January given by another Guild. I'd be up for it. I am not sure what clock others are on, but I'll throw something out there to get the bidding started. How about a Sunday night meeting? Say March 13th at 7pm CST? Edit: Heh... forgot to say...

[World of Warcraft] Enduring Nobility is up and running!

I would not suggest going into the Deadmines until you have at least 20 seasons under you belt. Not saying I have not seen others in there with less than 20, but I would not recommend it unless you enjoy the walk from the graveyard. To all: Send Silk. Eoli (I think) and I are both getting...

    Quoteable moments

I know there have been several of these threads, but there was one at my groups last gaming session that just has to be shared. The party has some strong LG tendencies with a LG monk and paladin leading the way. We came into possession of a relic of some power a while ago and everyone wants to...

[World of Warcraft] Enduring Nobility is up and running!

Greetings All Thank you for your offers of Light Leather, but at this time I have no need for it. Use it to the best of your ability to improve yourselves! And I have news. Enduring Nobility has been invited by my former guild, Honor in Exile, to participate in a day of contests and duels...

[World of Warcraft] Enduring Nobility is up and running!

Greetings fellow Guild members. In the realm of Feathermoon I am knows as the warlock Vaslov (sometimes called Vaslov the Odiferous or Vaslov the Colorbind, but those are stories for another post). Should any of you need help with a quest just ask. I am not sure if any fellow guildmembers...

[World of Warcraft] I've started an EN World Guild! (12-25-04)

I'll sign that charter as well! Vaslov the Odiferous Human Warlock

    Giant unstopable robot- HELP!!!

How about luring it away from the city. You know it likes missiles. "Launch" a missile from Chicago over the robots head. Guard the missile. Perhaps the super strong character is carrying it and can help the missile dodge any attacks. Or the guy with Telekinesis can float a bunch of mirrors...

altering d20/d&d for low magic games

Easiest way to do this I can think of is to just slow down the rate that experience is granted. All you have to do is tweak the xp curve and the amount of magic and availability of magic items can change dramatically. If players knew it took 10 full adventures to get 100 xp even low level...

    A murder dilemma

Two thoughts for you to ponder. 1) First, is there a rule of law in the land? Or a rule of men? If the rulers do not follow a rule of law and use their own judgment instead then it opens up all sorts of possibilities. A noble could say that the good the character has done for the people of...

    Player's Favorite Sayings?

"Oh, this [insert event] is going badly. Quick Wes, pull out the pdf's!" Had a player in the group that had all sorts of rule books with odd extra rules to buff up his paladin when things got rough. Saved our bacon more than once, but like that would stop us from taunting him.

    Training, gaming, and reality

I actually played a diviner who created a "Locate the merchant who'll pay me best for my product" spell. DM wouldn't go for it, but I tried. I never really thought about it, but 3.x D&D has a built in mechinism to support having a heavy combat focused spell set. The best way to get xp...

    Help me defend an artifact!

I'd stay away from forbiddance. What self-respecting god of undead is going to lock out support from the ethereal plane? Assuming they have the resources I'd go with the Unhallow and the teleport redirect PK suggested. I believe the Book of Eldritch Might had a nice arcance teleport redirect...

Are you a DM for a party without fighers?

If the flavor of game your group is looking for is less melee intensive give go for it! For the early levels pit them against opponents that have similar limitations (i.e. prefer to not have melee combats). That doesn't mean they can only fight librarians and sick puppies. Have them fight a...

How far do your players go to accomodate a new character?

Around 8 years ago I left my regular gaming group due to work taking me away from home. Several months later I returned to the group and hatched an evil plan with the DM. :] The party had just rescued a young girl who several power groups were after for some reason or another. Enter my new...

Mark, I was thinking of the listen rule as well. Seems Eric taught you well. +30 something listen score indeed! :p

More than one PC per player?

I ran a short campaign where each player had multiple characters (I was told it was close to what dark sun did). At the beginning of each session the players would take the role of leaders of a wealthy guild who needed to find adventures for some work. They would "hire" the right set of...

    Picking Your Brains: The Respin

Reading your first post Simon Green's Deathstalker series came to mind. It is sci-fi, but has some concepts similar to what you describe, including a queen named the Iron "Female Canine" [name changed to protect Eric's Grandma] by the resistance. You might want to check it out as it probably...

My Paladin killed a child molester (and now my DM wants to take away my powers!)

Though I do not agree with the DM's view of paladins, he gave an OOC warning and this is the path the character chose. Think of it as the world paused, the deity told the paladin "This isn't a good idea", and the paladin still went ahead with it. For that reason I agree with your DM. I also...

Do "they" exist in your world?

Years ago I ran a game in college. Several of the players were grad students in various sciences. One day after a very long physics exam I was running a game where a human wizard and a dwarven fighter fell a distance together. For some reason my sleep deprived brain came up with a description...
