What Game or Publisher Would You Have Be Market leader

Leading Edge. You'd only be able to get through a single round of combat per game session. A single combat could last months. Everyone would save money because there would be no way to get through a single game let alone through multiple adventures. /s Some part of me wants to like Phoenix...

What dead game would you resurrect?

Prime Directive with different rules (not GURPS or D20) could be interesting. The SFB universe has a lot of fun lore and could make for a very good RP setting. I have in the past owned all three rule sets for Prime Directive and enjoyed none of them despite liking the premise of the game.

What dead game would you resurrect?

It Came from the Late Late Show. It's a premise where the actual rules don't match the intentions laid out in the book. The game mechanics do not support the description of the game at the table. A blog post I can't find called it a ludonarrative dissonance which I completely agree with. It's a...

How Should RPG Books Be Organized - on your shelf?

GoodReader on iOS is great. You can manage files and folder inside the app, sync directly from cloud storage, and even upload through a web UI. It's a good PDF reader as well by not clouding the UI with a bunch of garbage.

How Should RPG Books Be Organized - on your shelf?

I have...many books but fewer than I've had in the past. I like to group them by system and try to roughly order them left to right with the main rulebook first and then supplements then adventures. Right now I've got a full sized bookshelf in my office filled with books. I also am a fan of...

    Grade the Basic Roleplaying System

I gave it an "it's ok" vote. It's easy to explain to players for a one-shot/con game, runs alright, and is generally agreeable. It's impressive how agreeable considering it's age and the time period in which it was developed. A lot of games of similar age have just garbage rules. Due to its...

    Grade the Megaversal/Palladium System

In addition to what others have said the ergonomics of the rules sucks. The Rifts core rule book is a dumpster fire in terms of organization. Rules are intermixed with game play philosophy, world lore, and gear stats. Some rules have unstated/understated implications that aren't immediately...

What dead game would you resurrect?

Awesome. That book (I had the big trilogy book) blew my mind as a teenager. I was obsessed with INWO, read an article in InQuest about it which mentioned Illuminatus! and then pick that up and read it. In pretty short order I went from sort of weird to very weird.

    Grade the Megaversal/Palladium System

Ok we've got a street rat, a mechanic, a librarian, a vagabond, and a Glitterboy. You encounter a giant demon with robotic laser shooting tentacles. All the players not playing the Glitterboy can just go home. Probably won't see you next weekend either.

    Grade the Megaversal/Palladium System

I voted mostly bad. The Palladium system itself does not have many redeeming qualities. Once you know it, it's workable with some house rules. It's very much a rule set modeled on 1E D&D with a bunch of fantasy heartbreaker rules on top. It's unfortunate these have not changed in the intervening...

    Grade the GURPS System

That book is one of my white whales. I owned the book (never used it obviously) but got rid of it in a damn-I-need-money-more-than-these-books purge. Fast forward to today and copies are just stupid expensive and SJG never released it on PDF.

How do deal with players who don't search?

You don't even need to roll. Just calculate a passive perception/spot/whatever for the characters and keep it aside. If they don't explicitly search for things if their passive value doesn't beat the difficulty, they don't see the thing. If their inattention misses stuff, tough. at the same...

    Palladium Announces New TMNT Kickstarter

That's incorrect though. The 1st Amendment only covers the government and the abridgment of expression. It says nothing about the tolerance for toxic speech nor does it compel anyone to listen to or give forum to toxic speech. Because you and I have the freedom of expression we by extension have...

    Palladium Announces New TMNT Kickstarter

As a philosophical aside, tolerance is not just a state of being. It's a contract. If someone's philosophy calls for my destruction or disenfranchisement I'm under no moral or ethical obligation to tolerate that position. Doing so would be tacit support for my own distraction of...

    Grade the Storyteller System

The Storyteller system was to me an ok system with a lot of lore/metaplot that didn't necessarily congeal into a good game. Every ST game I ever played fell apart after a couple sessions because no one ever had any idea what the hell to do. The lack of direction was compounded by the fact that...

    Palladium Announces New TMNT Kickstarter

If true this kills 99.9% of my interest. It does not make any logical sense. KS got religion around PDFs and has release most Palladium books as PDFs. It would be a damn shame if Paramount/Nickelodeon/Whoever had some stupid licensing split like LucasFilm/Arts does with Star Wars.

    Palladium Announces New TMNT Kickstarter

Some sort of document describing TMNT-stuff in Savage Worlds? If such a thing exists I had never seen it but I'm not a super Savage Worlds players so there could be a whole universe of Savage Worlds content I have no idea about.

    Palladium Announces New TMNT Kickstarter

Wow. This is very surprising. I own original prints of all the TMNT books but on one hand I'm tempted to back this just to get nice PDF copies. On the other hand I'm reminded of Palladium doing PDF releases of their Robotech books only to lose the license again. That I blame mostly on Harmony...
