    More about wizards by kunadam

There had better be some kind of enchanter arcanist class available later, because there is no way I am letting psionics into my game. My world does not need Jedis

    More about wizards by kunadam

I agree in concept, but I have to argue with the comparison with Vlad. His witch abilities are, in D&D 4E terms, rituals. But he is also a sorceror and much of that is in-combat or at least quick. Do you remember when he summoned a second jhereg during a fight? I think he was breaking the rules.

New Design & Development: Paladin Smites!

I like how the Charisma mechanic mirrors the cleric choice in 3E. Do I want to be strong and a decent fighter? Or do I want to be Charismatic and lay the smack on undead? Only, of course, the Paladin doesn't have to hope for any specific type of enemy if he chooses the Charismatic route.

    D&D 4E D&D 4e Feat Name Generator

This reminds me of the good old days of You Bastard! Does anyone still have the generator up for that?

Honestly, how often have you used gnomes?

It seems as if they made gnomes as annoying as possible in order to justify the cut. Those bastards!

Honestly, how often have you used gnomes?

I have worked very hard in my campaign to give gnomes a real, serious role that spans large portions of the world. I carved out a niche for them that other races didn't fill. I would love to strangle whoever thought it would be a good idea for "tinker gnomes". I finally have a group that I don't...

    Torm vs. Tyr

Gestalt = an organized whole that is perceived as more than the sum of its parts. Is that the word you meant? I don't understand.

    Torm vs. Tyr

As somebody who never really used WOTC gods, can you give the rundown of the similarities/differences of Torm and Tyr? What will it mean for the core game world?

    The Gnome Poll

I voted on the first 4, but that doesn't mean that I am severely offended that they didn't make the cut in 4E PHB1. Of course, I assume they'll make it in by PHB2.

Honestly, how often have you used gnomes?

You know, strangely enough, gnomes do make the best barbarians just from a mechanical standpoint. A small weapon does on average 1 point less damage than a comparable medium one. With the gnome +1 size bonus to hit, he can afford to power attack for one more point than a medium sized character...

Honestly, how often have you used gnomes?

In my homebrew, the River Gnomes were the most adept at sailing large vessels. There eternal enemies were the Minotaur longboats. Looks like in 4E, the halflings will be the sailors.

    Give me choices!

In my homebrew game, gnomes were the masters of the seas and rivers and definitely had a role not filled by other races. Looks like the 4E halflings killed them and took their stuff.

New Design & Development: Paladin Smites!

Hitler was very complex. A vegetarian, loved his dog. Actually, a pretty good model for a complex villain.

    As Editions progress, are homebrews...

Question: I was just wondering... as editions progress, are you finding it more difficult to create your own settings and forge your own path, or have the new editions been making it easier to come up with your own content? Answer: I don't like some feat names in 4E Ergo, whining

New Design & Development: Paladin Smites!

Well, you are your own ally, so I assume he evil guys just heal themselves. That doesn't make them all that different mechanically, but you can always add a little flavor on top.

Do you own a ballpoint pen? You are allowed to write in the books you buy. Okay. Done. Has nothing to do with homebrewing. Please keep the whining about how WOTC decides to name fluff items in the ten other threads dedicated to that topic.

    As Editions progress, are homebrews...

Well, this happens to be a thread about homebrewing, so can we please keep the whinging out?

    As Editions progress, are homebrews...

A freaking feat name is more intrusive than having to completely rewrite the PHB to take into account no Dwarves, flying Elves and Gnomes that are sized Tiny? You have no idea what homebrewing is. A feat NAME has ABSOLUTELY no impact on a game world.

    As Editions progress, are homebrews...

Are we claiming that up until 4E, every homebrew was forced to have Bigby in it? A feat name or spell name is just a name. How much time does it take to change Golden Wyvern Adept feat in your homebrew? About ten seconds.

New Design & Development: Paladin Smites!

Considering the sheer number of abilities/powers that will need to be described for 8 classes times 30 levels, I think page count might be a bit of a concern. I'm sorry, but you might have to come up with your own flavor.
