    D&D 4E 4E FRCS Cover: NOOOOOOOOOO!

I like first person storytelling better than I do third. Allows for unreliable narrator. See Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolf. Loved the narration. Wish we would see more of this in gaming lit.

    D&D 4E 4E FRCS Cover: NOOOOOOOOOO!

This is incorrect. The 3.0 FRCS was in the faux Tome format. No Pics on the Front. Elminster did make the cover of Magic of Faerun though.

    D&D 4E 4E FRCS Cover: NOOOOOOOOOO!

Those are best parts of the books. I would love if there was a whole Drizzt novel written in first person. But hey look were different!

    Conan 2009 Teaser Poster

I am quite aware of the fact that Conan stories seem to jump genres. From what I understand is he would either write a conan story that didn't sell and change it to a different genre, or he would take a failed genre story and resell it as a conan yarn. But when it comes to the character that...

    Your accumulated 3.x list?

First nine of Jdrakehs post plus some (of the best) adventure material. I would add Draconomicon and PHB2, maybe the FCs.

Six Blind Men and the Fourth Edition....

Here is what I think: I think WotC should have held action until 6 months before to announce. And then used their Hype-Frenzy marketing feat. The Preview books should have come out 3 months before, with info that was set in stone at the 6 month date. I think we would have gotten a much...

    Conan 2009 Teaser Poster

I beg to differ. As REH wrote him Conan is a very distinct character. The idea was fully fleshed out. We have over a thousand pages of Conan. The pastiche writers turned the character 180 degrees from what Conan was. To correct some stuff: Titles are: The Devil in Iron and the Frost...

A Thread For Those Somewhere In The Middle

I agree mostly with the second post. The thing that has the most potential to turn me off of 4e is the marketing. Mechanicly, the game seems solid. But the previews seem very sloppy. -announceing 6months too soon (I can say for sure there are more than one WotC insider that share this...

The Santa thread, part 3 : Responsibilities of unbelievers

The santa belief has all the stuctures of a faith/religion. Faith in an unseen being, rewards that are assumed to be from said being, rituals (letters, milk and cookies, mall visit) needed to reap rewards. Weather it is true or false is besides the point. It fits the structure and is a kid...

    More about wizards by kunadam

I don't think enchantment should be nerfed for psi. Psionics is a different way of delivering magic effects. I think it would be cool to see an enchanter and a psion fight over the will of a crowd. Don't get that if all the best stuff is psi.

Dammit, Warlord, Warlock, Tiefling, and Dragonborn are growing on me.

I want to play a dammit. Anyone heard about these?

The Santa thread, part 3 : Responsibilities of unbelievers

We shouldn't be talking about this, because really, Santa is religion. Think about it. Many children react in a similar fashion to adults who are confronted with the idea that the person of their faith might not be who they thought they were. The fist thing a child does after they get over...

    Torm vs. Tyr

I am actually really wondering: Why isn't he the God of Magic in the realms yet? I think its time for him to man up, stop messing with the sexy Goddess of Magic and bug out to being a greater God. Best way for the Elmunchkins to have their cake and eat it too, and the rest of us get rid of the...

    Save or Die!

In the hands of the right DM save or die can be really cool. In the hands of a DM PC storytelling jerk it is so so lame.

What happens when Chuck Norris Tunes you out?

I don't think this falls into politics. I found it sort of odd that Reuters would report on his opinion. Methinks someone has been reading the Chuck Norris list: http://www.reuters.com/article/latestCrisis/idUSN29211301 So to add to it: Chuck Norris is so Bad Ass that when he wants to...

How does striking an opponent heal your allies?

If anyone has not put it together, I am still developing home grown alternatives for 3.5... This thread helps a lot! When I am done, I plan on putting out the system as a free pdf as thanks for all the help.

How does striking an opponent heal your allies?

I think we are talking about two different things. I am not talking about what I think WotC is doing with 4e, I am talking about what I think WotC was going to do with 3e but then backed out of. I have a theory of what this looks like. WotCs 4e mechanic is at this juncture a complete questing...

How does striking an opponent heal your allies?

You make some good points KB. Some mechanics would get in the way. While I have thought a lot about this, I have not thought some stuff through- like DR. I would rule that DR no longer applies to HP damage but to con damage. So yeah, you can take down the deamons hit points, but then you...

How does striking an opponent heal your allies?

It would then be a matter of poison taking effect only when con has been damaged, or if the conditions of the delivery method are met (a pinprick when ref save failed, drinking the poison in the cup etc). With harder delivery for posons you can make them tougher. A poison tipped arrow should...
