Pnumadesi Player's Companion Feedback and Updates

Welcome back from your respective weekends, if anybody was celebrating the 4th. I spent most of my weekend with the family while working on some of the initial scratch work for my next Pnumadesi book. Having taken the weekend away from finishing up this book helped me organize my thoughts a...

In preparation for the games I will be setting up to have run in the world of Pnumadesi, I wanted to get some preliminary feedback for the setting. I'll also be going through the book myself and providing some information about design philosophy and rules decisions while we go through it. So...

Pnumadesi Player's Companion - Free Download Through Sunday

Cool, I really wanted a way to be able to have the player characters be known for their particular attack. It would be good story to have them get in a fight in town and somebody recognizes the fighter because he did his patten one-arm crusher attack. Similarly, the enemy can try to track him...

That's fine, thank you. Do you think it'd be better placed at +2?

Pnumadesi Player's Companion - Free Download Through Sunday

Beginning today, and going through Sunday, I will be providing my 82 page short copy of the Pnumadesi Player's Guide by Northwinter Press (my current writing alias). I've labored on this project for over a year, and it's about time I put something out for everybody to see just what I've been...

    Monk Paragon Path: Drunken Master

I also specifically worded it so that you are no longer the attack's target. A fighter mc Monk could use the utility and get an opportunity attack from his combat superiority. Like Jackie Chan pulling the guy's arm to hit his (comedy relief) ally behind him so he can get a punch in.

    Double sword in Builder

Mine's working fine to calculate it. Yes, it was updated to 1d6 damage, because it's a light blade (instead of both light and heavy). The change was for balance, because it was originally better than a short sword for rogues, even if they couldn't effectively dual wield.

    Forked from DDI account sharing

DDI only lets you update up to 5 individual IPs each month ;); currently no questions asked. This is good for my computer, my laptop, and my wife's computer in case mine craps out; which it does frequently enough to warrant it. My wife doesn't play D&D and will never have a reason to use it.

Belt of the Brawler Unarmed Strikes

Where is this thread? If you mean "Belt of the Brawler + Crashing Tempest Style?" I've been following that thread as well, and they're just as on the fence about it as we are. For what it's worth, CSR did say it worked as we've described above; but of course that's to be taken with a grain of...

How would you build these characters?

Very good and valid points. You've won me over on it. And best luck with Xena, I was never really a fan.

    Monk Paragon Path: Drunken Master

Do you mean for the Drunken Boxer Attack? I modeled it after Celestial Drunken Boxer (Monk attack 27) and making a basic attack considering the power's description wouldn't make sense in context. If you mean the utility, it's just melee or ranged attack. No basic, so any melee or ranged power...

How would you build these characters?

Philippe's pretty good. Going over the information I dug up, he seems to fit pretty well. That said, I think it's pretty well established (with much thanks going to Garth here) that a noncombatant is a viable character that can be built in 4e. My concern now is that they don't all become too...

Belt of the Brawler Unarmed Strikes

We've established that it does work that way; but you can't count it as a club and do unarmed strike damage, so no +3 prof d10 club for the monk.
