    Feat for 12th level Paladin

Shield Specialisation and then Shield Ward at lvl 15 is also very nice if you prefer to go more defensive. Edit: from PHB2

AoW: The party does something unexpected/bad. Now what?

Trusting Dourstone? What gullible fools are those PCs? A dwarf without a beard just HAS to be evil! :D

What do you think of the Duskblade?

I´m going to play one in our Burning Skys campaign. Looks like a solid class to me. For feats I think Battle Caster, Somatic Weapon, Power Attack and Arcane Strike are pretty good. The spell list is ok for a secondary caster. I was thinking of adding Green Star Adept but my GM banned that PrC...

    Love and the DnD experience

Love is an illusion. To be more precise, it's like a Phantasmal Killer. First you roll your save if you believe in it, then to see if your heart gets ripped out. Sometimes we have love (PC/PC or PC/NPC) and sometimes not, it depends if the players are interested in it. One particulary cruel...

Help me challenge my 12th level party with hobgobolins!

I don't know why everyone's afraid of adding class levels. Do you think in real life everyone is level 1? Level is not only about combat prowess (though that automaticaly comes along in D&D), it is also about skill and knowledge. I would say the average worker in a company should be lvl 1-3...

The Joys of Online Play - NO NOT MMORPGS!

I played some very good online campaigns with Neverwinter Nights. The problem is that the DM has a lot of work creating an adventure, preperation time exceeds playing time multifold if you rely on AI or scripts too heavily. Luckily, there are a lot of tools to let the DM do many things on the...

A One-Handed Wizard in Combat Needs Your Help!

Eschew Material should be his next feat :D I would allow the raven in his action to place/take the wand in/from the wizards hand at no cost for the PC. Or maybe fastening the wand on his bracers.

    Help on a Rogue 4/Wizard 5/Arcane Trickster 3

Definatly get Chill Touch as one of your 1st lvl spells. You can get a lot of touch sneak attacks per encounter with only one casting. Vampiric Touch and Blink are a must too. Drop Spell Focus and Combat Casting, take Weapon Finesse (for melele touch attacks) and Praticed Spellcaster. Don't...

Getting rid of clerics in my homebrew.

Nix the cleric, use reserve points (as in Unearthed Arcana or Iron Heroes) and use herbal remedies for diseases, poisons, ability dmage, etc.

What would you play in this group?

Is your rogue good enough to handle all the traps and locks? If not, try out my dwarven tunnelfighter build Dwarf Rogue 8/ Fighter 4 PB32 Str 14 Dex 16 (1 from level) con 18 (2 from level) int 14 wis 12 cha 8 Able Learner, improved toughness (there's no such thing as too many skill- or...

Is this a problem?: Full Attack numbers

Don't forget that PCs standing between the archer and the target provide the target with soft cover, that´s +4 AC which is not negated by Precise Shot.

Is it wrong for NPCs to block a 'detect evil' check by a PC?

In my campaign, using magic (including detect evil) on a non-willing person is a criminal offense. A paladin trying this stunt on a powerful noble could well rot in a dungeon for that.

How to design 4th edition D&D to limit buffing

Hmm, in our campaign which we ended at lvl 13 that was not a problem. Spell slots are too valuable to buff up everyone with everthing. My mage rarely casted more than 3 buffs per day, same with the cleric.

Should a NPC cleric heal himself?

You could check out Iron Heroes which has no magical healing. You basicaly have Reserve Points (same amount as hitpoints) which you can use to heal yourself between encounters. So you have the same hitpoints in a given encounter, but twice as many in a given day.

Attack of Opportunity -- does it deserve to survive to v.4?

Keep 'em, no doubt about that.

Clerics - What do you LIKE and DISLIKE?

I gave each god 6 domains, and the clerics have the powers of all. They cast spontanously, but only know 8 fixed spells per level (i.e. on lvl 1 their 6 domain spells , CLW/ Bless if channeling positiv or ILW/Bane if channeling negative) No hv. armor, HD d6, +2 skillpoints/lvl, Channel Energy...

    Grouping skills affect on rogues

With that rule you encourage all classes to dabble in the rogues field of expertise and then you want to punish the rogue to boot? Let the rogue have it's skillpoints. I usualy play human rogues with Int 14+ and yet I'm always short on them.

    Orcish Resources

I can recommend Fury in the Wastelands from Kenzer. Very detailed view on orcish culture, and inspiring to read.

    D&D with a twist

Check out Iron Heroes from Malhavoc, it's a refreshing twist from the standard magic D&D.

Can I Make My Games More Like Pirates of the Carribean?

For rules on sea combat I recommend Salt&Sea Dogs from Kenzer, for interesting combat options Iron Heroes from Malhavoc.
