DM's: How many PC's do you kill per campaign?

Roughly half of the torture my PC's experience is from situations they create themselves. ;)

    Hireling, henchmen, extras and redshirts.

In the campaign I'm running now, the party has several NPC allies that accompany them on several missions. Once in the past, they had to hire extra muscle to assault a fortress. For whatever reason, they felt that 50 men would be enough to take out a fortress rumored to hold 150 hobgoblins...

DM's: How many PC's do you kill per campaign?

The way I run my campaigns, I aim for what's most realistic. (Of course, this is realism where we have orcs and magic, but realism nonetheless.) That being said, more often than not my PC's are faced with something they feel they can't handle. This is also their astounding ability to enter...

    The "orc baby" paladin problem

Figured I'd toss in my two cents, giving my opinion based on the situation layed out by the OP. While I don't agree that anything but outsiders should be born evil (though you're entitled to your opinion), the fact that the tads are tripping the Evilsense means that the Pally has the...

    Comeliness has returned!

I've never bothered with comliness, or even your Charisma determining the way you look. Out and out, your Charisma stat is how the world perceives you, and how you interact with it. Your looks have nothing to do with it. The whole "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" thing. You can look...

Should this character still be Exalted?

This is something that I and my comrades would do in the current campaign I'm playing in, the only problem with that is that we're all evil, and I am personally Lawful Evil. It was not only an un-exalted act (I think it would be much less of a problem if he were not Exalted), it was...

    Image friendly spells

Anybody that falls off a 10' ladder deserves to take the d6 damage.

Flavor changes, show me the problems.

Not a bad little spin on things. Of course, were my DM to present me and my fellow players with such a change, I would promptly write up a martial character rather than a magical one.

    How Many Base Classes?

The way I've always done it, and the way that it's been done in every game I've been in, is that if the book is available that holds the class, you're more than welcome to take it. Some of them are more or less identical, but that's why it's up to the Player to decide which one s/he wants.

Don't we have 10' ladders for that?

World of Canton Main Realm Book

Greetings. This the guilty writer/editor in the geeks cubed crew, since I'm the first one here, I'd like to take this time to respond to the review. Primarily, I am going to own up, and keep the "it's not my fault" crap to the minimum. I will not be contrary to the reviewer, because frankly, he...

    Frenzied Berserker

Best class to come from to take Frenzied Berserker is Barbarian. As such, your best stats should be Str (to kill things), Con (to take a lot of damage) and Dex (to not get hit). As for spending the gold...just make sure you have a good weapon and the best possible armor you can afford...

The Neutral Good Thief (yes, he's a Rogue)

New campaign character is a Neutral Good Rogue with ranks in Sleight of Hand, Bluff, and all of the Roguey skills that make Rogues known as Thieves. Since he is, in fact, a thief, he uses his SoH to steal things when he has the opportunity (which is great when there's a Paladin in the party)...

    Cloakers and Hide

Unless they're unfolded, I think they look indistinguishable from a cloak. They can Hide, and if they're found they still just look like a cloak. o.O Until some poor sucker tries to wear one. It's not so much a disguise check as it is a natrual look. It's like a human to try disguising himself...

    Fixing The Paladin

..you think the Paladin sucks? Well, okay. Divine Intervention: At 1st level, a Paladin's deity interferes and destroys every enemy the Paladin might have evar . This only works once, but future designated enemies are automatically destroyed. -.- Does that help?

    Thank you. :)

    Permanency?

They just wanted to Awaken the Griffon, and it worked with no problems, really. So, it's all gravy. Besides, they stole the Griffon from a Hobgoblin who was using it as a mount, and the wizard in the party had just fireballed everything into oblivion. The Griffon was just barely alive. -_- I...

    Vorpal Vs Fortification

I still don't agree with the whole "negate doesn't negate" thing. Being immune to criticals doesn't negate the critical effects, that I can easily and readily agree with, but the fortification is designed to make the critical go away as if it never happened. Flaming Burst isn't an effect onto...

    Permanency?

It may be broken, but loopholes such as that happen all the time and allow people to do things they normally wouldn't be able to do. And just because magic can be dispeled with dispel magic, doesn't mean that it would be. In my mind, if it hasn't been gotten rid of, it shouldn't just leave...

    Ivy,Human Ranger,"Am I becoming evil?"

The benefits of being a Neutral-Evil Barbarian worshiping Erythnul I, being Heimdall, am evil for the sake of evil and kill things in boundless slaughter because it is my way of life. However, I won't kill anything that's weak because there's nothing to prove in it. ~.^ Slaying demons is fun...
