    Grind

There was no particular apparent reason to lump the "sometimes" with the "often" in your interpretation. To be fair, it appeared to be assimilation bias rather than confirmation bias. Nah, it's simpler than that: if it ain't a problem, it ain't a problem. Ultimately this is a question about...

    Grind

*cough* confirmation bias *cough* That being said, I do agree with you that 25-30% of respondents subjectively deciding they're in an ambiguous "often grind" category could be an indication that something unusual is going on. Of those ofteners, some fraction of them will be "not my cup...

    D&D 4E Player's Strategy Guide - 4E Book

The Tactics 101 excerpt is interesting. Unlike the author, I find that multi-attack powers are the bomb in 4e, especially for weapon users. With Come and Get It, I usually attack three or more targets and do just as much damage against each one as my melee basic attack. Our party didn't have...

Looking for opinions on Rogue feats

Damn, apparently I've already awarded XP to Mengu. He beat me to the rhythm blade suggestion. :D If you've ever found yourself with more attack bonus than is absolutely necessary, Power Attack is pretty good. It's not an all-the-time awesome feat, but when you're benefiting from a leader's...

Is It Anathema to Take A Heroic Feat w/ a Paragon Feat Slot

I consider any feat that scales by tier to be an actual feat of that tier. Beyond that, a good feat is simply a good feat.

Andy "Errata" Collins got laid off

It's true, that was a great example of how to describe bad teamplay in 4e. You would, of course, use different terminology to describe the same bad teamplay in a different game.

I need a city - looking for product recommendations

Good stuff there, guys! I'll take more if you've got it. :) Are there any cities that might be of use in Dragon or Dungeon magazines?

Andy "Errata" Collins got laid off

Bad teamplay = bad gameplay... that's not exactly an edition-specific or even system-specific problem.

That's such a fun combo. My mordenkrad fighter has two close burst 1 powers. By level 10 I had regularly had single rounds where I did damn near 200 damage.

Eberron - Dragonmarks & the Zodiac

If you're looking for connections to celestial bodies, I know that each of the dragonmarks corresponds to one of Eberron's moons. Each moon also relates to a month, so you could zodiacify that by creating constellations that each moon travels through during its named month. (Personally, I'd...

I need a city - looking for product recommendations

My PCs are headed to a big blank spot on my map where there's supposed to be a city. I do have some details, but it's just not enough to really fire up my creative engine. At this point, I'm looking for an interesting published city that I can mine for ideas. Here's what I've got so far: -...

Eberron - Dragonmarks & the Zodiac

The closest I know of is that each house uses a different magical beast in its heraldry: Cannith = gorgon Deneith = chimera Ghallanda = blink dog Jorasco = griffon Kundarak = manticore Lyrandar = kraken Medani = basilisk Orien = unicorn Phiarlan = hydra Sivis = cockatrice Tharashk = dragonne...

What is the best FIGHTER L12 item

Without knowing more about your build, I'd suggest bumping that +2 veteran's scale up to a +3 veteran's wyvernscale. You'll net 2 points of AC, and I assume from the fact that you use a shield that AC matters to you.

Need Some Optimization Advice for My Hybrid

It was mostly for jbear's benefit, since he was talking about rampaging off a holy strike. And yeah, Str paladins can hit pretty damn hard. :D It's even better than HQ in one important respect - it saves you the minor action of quarrying, which is important if you want to mark things as a...
