    Favorite covers.

"Ceremony" by New Order, covered by Galaxie 500 "Evil Hearted You" by the Yardbirds, covered by the Pixies (in Spanish, no less!) "Just Like Heaven" by the Cure, covered by Dinosaur Jr.

    Orcs in d&d vs LOTR

I have an idea for twisted halflings... As for twisted dwarves...

What old books do you still own? The first OD&D box anyone?

Let's see. The White Box with the 3 little booklets, along with all the supplements; an extremely worn-out Holmes box; the Moldvay Basic & Expert books; the original 1e MM, PHB, DMG, FF, DDG (though without the Elric/Cthulhu elements), MM2, UA, Oriental Adventures, DSG, WSG, DL Adventures, MotP...

    Top 20 Goofiest Movie Monsters

Channel 56 in Boston used to run "Creature Double Feature" every Saturday during my brat years. I think just about everything on that list was covered (and a few gawdawful gems as well). I'm glad The Green Slime made it (with Nick Adams--the unthinking man's Marlon Brando, no less), and seeing...

I got a fever! And the only prescription... is more cowbell!

Is there at least one episode of "The Continental"? "Champagne?"

    Kobolds

    Whatever that is.

    Ep. III - Mon Mothma

This may not change anything, but in Ep. IV, doesn't Owen tell Luke to have the droids' memories erased? Of course, this may have nothing to do with recognizing 3PO (I'd imagine most droid owners would consider it SOP to either wipe memories before selling a droid or after purchasing one).

    Your first car

My first was an old 1980 VW Rabbit. Not much in the way of pickup, but a perfect little box for me at the time. The "radio" was an ancient Radio Shack "Realistic" black brick of a tape deck that had 3 settings: Play, Fast Forward (aka Play Without Sound), and Eat. The Rabbit still had the...

    My Thoughts During RotS [SPOILERS]

I remember that one! Lars shirtless, drinking blue liquid, and cursing!

Name Five Things You've Done That Others Probably Have Not

Ah, Babyhead! I saw the the loudest show I've ever experienced there (fIREHOSE). Ears rang for 2 days. Good times!

    Best DVD Commentaries

It's possible there's also a "real" commentary track in which the actors chime in, but they're definitely in character. It gives a certain "Behind The Music" feel to it, making it even more preposterous.

"Games are neither art nor media." - Censorship push

...trying desperately to avoid the political no-fly zone... I realize that the intent of this legislation is noble--I'm not a parent, but I can definitely see how some parents want to keep their kids as far away from questionable material as they can. However, I think laws like this do a great...

    Best DVD Commentaries

The DVD for This Is Spinal Tap includes an audio track with Nigel Tufnel, Derek Smalls, and David St. Hubbins "commenting" on the mockumentary. It's nearly as funny as the original audio track.

Rate Revenge of the Sith *SPOILERS*

I gave it an 8. I thought it easily outshone the 2 prequels, and ranks up there with ESB (though only more viewings will decide this). Of course, it wouldn't be a Star Wars movie without the cheese. I did cringe when Vader crooned his "Nooooooooooooo" (maybe I've seen too many Simpsons episodes...

    NBC's Hercules

OK, the trailer involves Hercules proclaiming his intent not to get involved in the "war between Zeus & Hera." How do Jupiter & Juno feel about this?

    Defining a decade with a song: 1970s

Slow Ride by Foghat. Memories of jean jackets, pickup trucks, smoke of many smells, and general adolescent foolishness.

    Weird things about you

Parts of me that pop: toes, ankles, knees (especially when rain's coming), shoulders, elbows, & wrists. I also periodically see illumination in a blurry fashion (which I suspect is a holdover from my less-savory-but-colorful younger years).

    Defining a decade with a movie: 1970s

I'd go with Dog Day Afternoon or Taxi Driver.

    Standard D&D cosmology and souls

The Far Realm origin does jibe with the absolute necessity to make sure Those Who Will Not Be Tamed take frequent naps.

What would your theme song be?

"Something Against You" by the Pixies (if I'm feeling spunky).
