    Is Tabletop Gaming D&D's "Sideshow"?

D&D used to or at least can do video games very well. Some of the best RPG video games ever are D&D property based. Don't understand why they take years off from them.

    Gamers vs. Reality: Who Wins?

Table top RPGs aren't more popular because they are hard work. High barrier of entry. But hard work brings reward. :D

    DOORS!

The PCs approach a room with a door. What does the door look like? What's it made of? Does it open in or out? Where are the hinges? Can I look under it? Can I look in a key hole? There are many, many doors in a dungeon - adventure - campaign. I can't take time to describe them all. I...

DnD books (not settings) of older editions that are useful regardless of edition!

THere were a ton of 2E history/resource books - Arms & Equipment Guide, Castles Guide, Celts Guide, etc. - that were great reads on their own for their historical value.

    AD&D 2E Leveling Up in 2E

I grew up on 2E and DM'ed one campaign to the point where most of the characters were levels 7 and 8. I felt like once they reached that point however the XP required to get to level 9 was just a massive amount and prohibitive. If I remember correctly a PC had to collect something like all the...

    Dragonlance Dragonlance 5E

Anyone heard anything about Dragonlance getting a 5E reboot? Temple of Elemental Evil, Ravenloft... seems it's time in 2016 or 2017 for Dragonlance. The original adventure path, while not the greatest modules, seem perfect for what WOTC likes to do now.

What Will Become of the FLGS?

Brooklyn and New York have a bunch of game stores that have popped up. I can think of at least six off the top of my head. They tend to be cafe/bar/card game/boardgame/table-top hybrid places. They are populated by a wide range of ages and both male and female. Always running tons of games...

Here Comes The STRAHD DM SCREEN

I've never loved DM Screens for my tabletop games. Always getting in the way when I needed to manipulate minis and maps on the game table.

D&D comes to Middle Earth (from Cubicle 7)

I was always surprised TSR/WOTC never licensed LOTR at some point. Seemed like an ideal marriage. Although, it could have overshadowed all the other D&D worlds.

    How Video Saved D&D

1995... My friends and I suspend our Forgotten Realms campaign because we cannot find the module "Shadowdale" and we very much want to play the Avatar Trilogy. The local comic store where I purchase RPG stuff informs me it's out of print. The local gaming store does not have it. I scour the...

    How Video Saved D&D

Agreed. I'm 37 and I've been playing a weekly game for over a year now with the same guys I played with in middle school and high school. Without roll20, and sites like it, that's just not happening. I imagine the 10k plus games going on on that site and others are in very similar...
