Explain the Rangers herbalism talent to em

what if they are stuck for a long time in a dungeon or a desert etc, with no plants?
Rolemaster isnt D&D, but its not because its got 10 stats or d100 resolution. Its because its combat engine makes D&D style adventuring unworkable. (weak foes gang up effectively: and a death spiral as damage makes you worse at stuff; more difficult healing)

The rats could be a detail in a conceptually dense adventure. And Goolings could be a meaningless reskin in a conceptually...
Rules Schmules.
Im using Shadowdark as a rules-light os d&d, and in fact the main reason im using it rather than b/x or a clone is thats Im hoping its novelty will short-circuit my overthinking.

Id play 1E over 2E because im already houseruling the bits 2E improves, rolling my eyes at the bits 2E makes worse, and ive made my peace with the 1E flaws that 2E keeps.
And I dont care for Forgotten Realms.
