    D&D 5E (2024) You're not planning on getting 2024 D&D? Why is that?

This is a sound approach! You're gonna get some great deals, I imagine!

    D&D 5E (2024) You're not planning on getting 2024 D&D? Why is that?

If this 2024 edition isn't the success they want, maybe it will motivate them to create an official 6th edition that embraces some actual conceptual changes. EDIT: I didn't mean that as snarky as it might read. I'm not knocking the 2024 books. It will just be interesting to see how the game...

    D&D 5E (2024) You're not planning on getting 2024 D&D? Why is that?

I've been playing a 2024 playtest fighter (battle master) in my weekly game for months now, and updated it recently as best as I could from what I know about the final form of the 2024 fighter. I have to say, between the weapon properties, combat maneuver, and new uses for Second Wind? It is...

Real Life Places That Inspire You As A DM

Really, just hiking anywhere does it for me, but hiking in a new place really does it! I recently spent some time on the east coast of Newfoundland, and hoo boy! It's basically endless rocky, jagged coasts dominated by cliffs, and in some of those cliffs are caves!

Dungeon World Gets New Owners, Second Edition Planned

Interesting! I like a lot of things about DW, but something about the presentation has always been off-putting.

    D&D 5E (2024) Fighter weapons and masteries

Is there a limit on how many of your attacks per turn can use the Vex property? Because with Two-Weapon Fighting and shortswords, you can hit with the first attack, give yourself advantage with the second, and when you hit with the second you're giving yourself advantage with the first attack on...

Did You Back a Million Dollar TTRPG Kickstarter? How's The Game?

I backed Shadowdark and Tales of the Valiant, both at the print level: Shadowdark is just one book, and TotV I backed just for the Player's Guide. Shadowdark is as great as you've heard it is: clear, straightforward, simple, and a great cross between 5E and OSR. The TotV PG borders on...

D&D 5E (2024) The Multiverse in the 2024 Players Handbook

Exactly. I haven't seen this new PHB, but from what I hear there are no lists of gods for cleric players to look at in it.

D&D 5E (2024) The Multiverse in the 2024 Players Handbook

"...but check with your DM." Problem solved. But give the players something to work with. Maybe list some examples - from WOTC's own settings, and historical deities - with each domain. The DMG can elaborate on any of that, of course. Also: I'm used to a different style of play, I guess. Unless...

D&D 5E (2024) The Multiverse in the 2024 Players Handbook

Players who want to run clerics (or paladins) might disagree with this. Regarding the illustration - I love all the different ways to visualize these things that we've had over the years and editions. I don't much care what planes there are or aren't, but these sure are fun to look at and think...

RPG Crowdfunding News – Nimble, Rifts, SLA BORG, and more

Already backing Nimble, because it looks like just what the doctor ordered. Limitless Non-Combat Encounters is a great title for some much-needed content!

    D&D 5E (2024) You're not planning on getting 2024 D&D? Why is that?

Let me start by saying I'm not outraged or whatever. Things have been nudging me toward not investing in this edition/whatever, like the OGL fiasco and more recent circus acts, the prevalence of 5E options, my lack of interest in getting dragged into a digital gaming space for my face-to-face...

    D&D 5E (2024) So IS it a new edition?

Yeah, this is how I see it, too - more like a 5.25 than even a 5.5, let alone a 6E.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

Similarly, when tablets made digital comic books into a popular thing, many people were worried it would mean the end of printed comics. Instead, the presence of digital comics increased awareness of comics in general, and some of the people made aware started going to comic book shops. When...

D&D 5E (2024) Is anyone going to use the new 2024 backgrounds?

I hope you're right, that these things are brought up elsewhere. Hopefully that section will take advantage of having a separate bit of the book to devote to it. I'm not optimistic, but I'll be happy to be wrong in that.

Trailer Star Trek: Section 31 | Teaser Trailer | Paramount+

That description is kind of misleading. Yeoh played Captain Georgiou, and also played a Mirror Universe Emperor Georgiou. The character she's playing in Section 31 is the latter. Regardless, I guess I'm in a minority here, but I love that trailer, and I'll definitely be watching.

D&D 5E (2024) Is anyone going to use the new 2024 backgrounds?

To answer the OP: I won't be using the new background, no. As far as i can gather, they've dumped personality traits, ideals, bonds, and flaws. So, I have no interest in this aspect of the 2024 game.

    Space: 1999 Coming From Modiphius

Yeah, the science on the show is...not its strong suit. The writers didn't seem to know the different between the solar system, the galaxy, and the universe.

    Space: 1999 Coming From Modiphius

The screeching horror of Dragon's Domain is burned into the mental retina of all who saw it at the "right" age. I watched that one a couple years ago for the first time, and I can see why. The production values on the show were generally very high. Honestly, it's one of the things that makes...
