I don't know people used to be able to do it all the time. a define protagonist does not really work for the type of game an elder scrolls game is. you need minimum definition so you can play as many bits of its options as is desired.

not remotely Witcher has a defined protagonist, terrible movement, and I can't vibe with it for love nor money.

still to human most of the ways to make humans look good have already been used

better writing for both the main quest and major guilds, for a start. Improved mechanics with stealth needing the least. the rest goes into endless setting issues which are too personal.

just make a mechanic to stop that ideally one that risk death thus it will only come up in desperate situations

elan lack a cool look which is the problem.

fire psionics is common in media and it reverse could equally work.

shoot fire and ice with their mind. Do something with soul, as the old goddess of souls was psyche or something. manipulate their own body. mind controle and telekenisis.

elan and maenad offer little to the player that a human will not offer. it needs something stranger and cooler for the iconic psionic pc option.
