Why not just buy the things you need instead???

D&D General D&D Editions: Anybody Else Feel Like They Don't Fit In?

So wizards were balanced because DMs would kill them before they got high level magic?

D&D General D&D Assumptions Ain't What They Used To Be

Which is why I advocate for Enworlders to stream their games. It's a crime that people can see us run games! They could learn so much if they see masters of their craft at work.

D&D General D&D Editions: Anybody Else Feel Like They Don't Fit In?

We're Enworlders. We don't fit in D&D. We change D&D so IT FITS US!

How Accommodating to Player Preferences Should the GM Be?

Well I'm sure any DM would have no problem with my Monk/Bard! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0lQF2WkKDwM

    Origins Experiences

You can give negative feedback without starting a fight. In order for conventions (or anything for that matter) to provide a good experience for you, they need to know what is working or not working. As for convention play (note that I'm not using the term organized play), I'm not sure how...

D&D General Defining "New School" Play (+)

But the rules not reflecting the intended play experience is OSR to the core. In OSR, the DM ignores the rules or beats into their preferred shape!

    Origins Experiences

But running games can be fun! So many Enworlders here are adamant about WOTC driving D&D off a cliff yet they refuse to take any action to correct course? How will people learn about the true essence of D&D besides from playing a game run by a person who understands it themselves?? Do you...

D&D General Alternate thought - rule of cool is bad for gaming

Rule of Cool should be embraced by all who have EMPOWERMENT. It explains that DM's judgement should override the rules, because it creates a more fun game.

You don't like small, local events? Those are probably in desperate need of expert DMs such as yourself.

D&D General Defining "New School" Play (+)

We can post until the end of time, but that's not gonna change anyone's minds. Are any Old Schoolers here willing to run some old school games to show people how it's done???

DCC Level 0 Character Funnel is a Bad Concept

But the funnel is the perfect example of simulationious design. The whole subsystem is designed to recreate a certain experience.

    D&D 5E (2024) Playstyle Changes from 5E to 5.5E?

You're massively outnumbered by all the people who would complain if they weakened spell casting instead.

Depending on where you live, you can attend other gaming cons that are as cool or cooler than Gencon, without fighting for hotel space. PAX Unplugged is plenty big enough for me, and a lot closer too.

D&D 5E (2024) GREYHAWKCONFIRMED! Reflections on Greyhawk in the DMG

This is just another plot to erase the Greyhawk Wars from history! Who will fight to preserve this piece of our past???

Was there a feedback panel where you could inform the con organizers themselves of the issues? It's usually after closing ceremonies in my experience. Most cons also send out surveys afterwards. Be sure to fill them out to tell them about your experience.

    D&D 5E (2024) DMG adventure design advice - a bit contradictory?

It is both and neither, at the same time.
