I don't think it's a manner of standards but of priorities. WOTC adventures are designed for certain things. The OP wants different things in their adventures. Instead of trying to force WOTC to cater solely to one set of priorities, why not simply buy adventures from someone with the same...

The solution is not to go smaller but BIGGER. Make Plotus sized adventures!! Then you'll have space for all the whatever you want.

Some plots or adventures are about reacting and/or solving problems. A linear plot has the advantage of bringing complex problems right to the PCs.

That is possible if you can get some Psions to train you. That looks like a quest. Speaking of which, what will the party do next?? Undrave wishes to learn the ways of the Psions. You can find some and convince them to train you, but that's a whole quest's worth of work. The party is short...
