    Dragon Reflections #46

This was the first issue I ever bought, along with #48 & #50. Fifty was the latest issue and 46 & 48 were the only other issues on the shelf at my FLGS, the now gone Rider's Hobby Shop in Ann Arbor, MI. There are still stores in Flint and Grand Rapids. I remember seeing the shop advertised in...

    Dragon Reflections #45

Yikes! Yes, that's it. It looked fine when I was making it, but my copied items queue must have made a substitution. No wonder my computer decided it needed restarting later. Thanks, and edited to change it to the correct link.

    Dragon Reflections #45

Finally decided to look up the game on Wikipedia to see what it might have on the game and I am now today years old when I found out that the latest attempt to republish Divine Right was ended by the resignation of the entire design team due to Glenn Rahman's decision to have it published by Vox...

    Dragon Reflections #45

I believe my copy of this lacked the cover, yet included the Dungeon Design Kit.

    Dragon Reflections #44

I will have to check him out. Thanks!

    Dragon Reflections #44

It is to me, but I know I'm much better at discriminating art styles than music. In particular, those horns just scream of his style to me.

    Dragon Reflections #44

His next ones are #48 & #56, so it varies. And you have something to look forward to in #49. Confession: I no longer have physical copies of any Dragon before #251, because I just couldn't justify the room to keep them while having the Dragon Magazine Archive. Still have the disks for...

    Dragon Reflections #43

"Many readers will want more material. There is a wealth of commercial and fan material available for fulfilling such needs. Similarly, even the most important material herein can be altered and bent to suit the needs of individual campaigns. Where possible, true guidelines have been laid down...

    Dragon Reflections #41

I find one of the most interesting things in this issue is the ad for subscribing to Dragon. The things that could casually be mentioned at the time as reasonable! Certainly my reaction to it now is very different than it was back in the '80s. Why? CW:

    Dragon Reflections #36

Given what would often happen with characters left in the game but not being run by the original player for five minutes, it's very understandable to sideline the character!

    AD&D 1E Dragon Reflections #30

Another issue I've been able to hold in my hands. Loved Orlow's magic items and was able to sprinkle a few into a campaign. They were memorable enough that I recognized Orlow's name when I came across Tower of Magicks, published by Mayfair in 1982 and written by Bill Fawcett.

    AD&D 1E Dragon Reflections #29

Ah Dragon #29, the oldest Dragon I ever got a physical copy of in my hands. Great memories of it, but I don't think a single thing from it ever went into any of my games. In the Finieous Fingers vs. Wormy debate, I definitely enjoyed the world building shown in Wormy. Finieous was more laughing...

Dragon Reflections #18 – Gamers Behaving Badly

I hate that a comment I make here is to nitpick, but the "TW" at the end of the Traveller review is, according to the Contents, Tony Watson, not Tom Wham. To make up for my negative feelings about pointing this out, here's what little I've been able to find on Tony Watson. This assumes...

Dragon Reflections #15 - Happy Third Birthday!

Really enjoying going through these looks at Dragon. Since one of the things I find most interesting is the pointing out of early articles by future recognized authors & designers, I thought I'd mention one overlooked in this issue. The article "Notes From Another Barely Successful D&D Player"...

Dragon Reflections #9 - Welcome Wormy!

Ah, the introduction of Wormy. I always wondered where Wormy's story would have gone if Trampier had the chance to continue it. There were so many little plot threads going on. Makes me want to see an attempt to finish it. Similar projects have been done before. One of my favorite science...

    Dragon Reflections #3: Controversy Strikes!

I found out about this series of threads with issue 41 and have started going through them. Since I own a copy of the Dragon Magazine Archive, I thought it made it a good time to start at the beginning and go through them along with these threads. One comment I have for this issue is the irony...

    Fantasy Flight Games Discontinuing RPGs?

Right, but if that makes the DragonStar line available for someone else to buy it at less than the exorbitant price FFG had reportedly been asking for it, maybe it could see the light of day again.

    Fantasy Flight Games Discontinuing RPGs?

I wonder if this could lead to a reopening of the DragonStar line. I still miss it.

Dragon Reflections #15 - Happy Third Birthday!

I guess it wouldn't be surprising that this is hard to get a hold of, since it isn't even included in the PDF from the Dragon Magazine Archive.

Experience Point: One Hundred Thirty Two Pounds

My wife and I have always kept totally separate accounts. But we both have the same philosophy: don't spend money you don't have. We have no debt, credit cards get paid off every month, the house was paid off before we got married, and we don't have kids. Thus my gaming collection can continue...
