    D&D General Killing Gods

I'm a big player of JRPGs so yeah, "killing the head of the church you were formally aligned with because they were secretly evil" is a pretty common trope in our games.

D&D General Words which replaced "race" in fantasy games

In French, folk and people is the same word, we've be using it for a while now and I find it quite elegant.

    D&D 5E (2014) Magic Resistance Alternatives

I love the Rakshasa magic immunity to spell below a certain level. I use it a lot in monster design. Or just remove the spell resistance and give the monsters more immunities to certain conditions instead.

D&D 5E (2024) To Revise or not to Revise: What to do about the other Subclasses?

Yeah, that's a problem for the future DMG or setting books: what domains will they assign to the pantheons shown in those books?

D&D 5E (2024) To Revise or not to Revise: What to do about the other Subclasses?

Rush is a strong word, but if there's money to be made, I don't think we'll see many new kits before the old ones get a do-over. I can see maybe a digital Unearthed Arcana (free? Cheap?) to show how to convert old material, with a few examples in each UA, once a month or so. Could be cool.

D&D 5E (2024) To Revise or not to Revise: What to do about the other Subclasses?

There's still a big difference between usable and balanced. Those kits won't be unplayable, but some of them will be less satisfying when compared to the power fantasy offered byz newer or revisited kits. I know myself prefer the archetypes from XGtE and don't mind the power disparity, but...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

Nha, sorcerer is a race, warlock is a background. Obviously. ;p

D&D General Religion in D&D: Your Take

I always goes with distant gods, be it in FR or any other setting. In my FRs, the gods where banished to their realms by Ao after the Time of Troubles which caused the Spellplague ( I dont need 500 different Mystra's death). The only godlike entities able to walk the land are those who "died"...

D&D 5E (2024) What is your oppinion of 5.24 so far?

Too many fiddly bits and the lost of many of our favorite kits makes me iffy on 5.24, but I still pre ordered the books. I think the improvements are generally good; so after a good read through, I'll decide which I'll keep.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Cleric"

Many gnomish deities share the trickery domain, so does various gods of Shadow (Sehanine) or Luck (Tymora) and their evil counterparts. Now, of course the gods of strife and assassins is a rather niche cult, but I'm sure their worship would be quite common for vengeance seekers or disgruntled...

D&D 5E (2024) Which subclasses “should” have been in 2024

I started typing the same, then decided to avoid the controversy. 😆 Still, it's a good point: to make it as an adventurer in a high magic setting, you gotta level the field a little to your advantage. If any creature you may face past level 3 are somehow magicaly infused, you gotta have some...

D&D Historian Benn Riggs On Gary Gygax & Sexism

So, how many of you were born in 1975? You know, the times where sexism was tolerated? If you can't escape the shaping of your times, how many of you here think that GG words were right? Noone, right? Because you changed, you evolved, you went beyond the teaching of your times because your...

D&D Historian Benn Riggs On Gary Gygax & Sexism

With all the talk trying to justify GG words, do we believe he did not know he was being an ass? Like, it was so common that vilifying women in a game of make pretend elves was a pretty neutral, even normal, thing to say? You know, since it wasn't the majority on gamers that pushed back...

Witholding your fellow human the most basic of consideration and decency never is ok and never was; not now, not in the 70's not in 4000 b.c. That it was accepted by the leading caste, well hidden at the bar or behind fake smiles, that is was begrudgingly accepted or proudly claimed in an old...
