WotC, really? No...really? You can't maintain a publishing schedule?

I wonder how that's going to effect cover art for the 'magazines' if there are no more comiplations. Maybe they'll go back in time like Pyramid and everythiing will just be HTML articles.

WotC, really? No...really? You can't maintain a publishing schedule?

Well, Erik should look on the really positive side. If Paizo tied D&D last year, it's going to cream it this year. Basically no releases versus Beastiary 2, Paths of the Damned 2, and several APs and other goods?

    Ampersand: 2011 releases officially gutted

So who here dosn't see Paizo as taking the #1 spot for the 1st quarter of '11? What is WoTC even selling for the first quarter of '11? Bad move all around

    Brand Fatigue

When Merric mentioned on his other thread about the last year for WoTC doing D&D, I think that as a role playing game it's shelf life may be over but WoTC has focused the novels on the D&D name as opposed to the Forgotten Realms name, as wel las putting specific D&D novels out. This doesn't...

    Ampersand: 2011 releases officially gutted

While this means fewer books, we plan to deliver just as much great content for players this year through other formats, including board games, accessories, and digital offerings I bet that stuff will wind up in Dragon/Dungeon and it'll be one way they cut back costs since all of that material...

Ampersand to reveal mystery of the disappearing books (apparently)

Yeah, not too impressed. But it does feed into one of my theories that the DDI is going to become a mainline of D&D material if all that stuff that was going to print is no just DDI.

Ampersand to reveal mystery of the disappearing books (apparently)

I believe I've been saying that they need to do this for a while now. They need to focus on getting people playing the game and the content of the books, as its available on the DDI, needs to focus to things that are only available for purchase in things that won't be on the DDI weither that's...

How do you make a campaign world come to life?

Unless you're writting up the campaign for publication, save yourself a ton of hassel and focus on the types of characters the players make and reveal the setting to them throug their characters choices. Fighters: What are the popular types of weapons. Are there any unique ones. Are there...

    Class Compendium: Gone?

I still think it's because they couldn't update the compendium with the info and decided to hold back on it until they could.

    Marvel Heros "Teen" Campaign

The problem with the request is for 'teenage' and the one playing is nine. there are huge swathes of differences between what's age themed for one and aged theme for another one. For example, Runaways and Young Avengers both deal with fairly mature themes and the cast is young in both. Both of...

    Fortune Cards Threads [Merged]

M'eh. I'd rather see focus on setting material or stuff I'll actually use but it is a business and they're going to try to maximize that profit level.

    Jan 18, 2011 update

Perhaps this is why the books were held back? To give the DDI time to be 'fixed' so that when new stuff wasi ndeed ready to be put in, instead of lying to the public for months about it, they just moved the books themselves back so that they can tackle it head on.

    NPC creation trends?

Variety is the spice of life. Thanks to a massive backlog of comics, a wealth of reading material, and of course printed products for my general game of choice for supers, Hero 5th ed, I rarely had to worry too much about duplication of material. Long before the drug wars in Mexico were the...

[WotC's recent insanity] I think I've Figured It Out

I may not be the first but I believe i've mentioend before that with it being online, the DDI, at least the character creation part, should be free. getting people to play and want to pay should be WoTC first priority, not making money off of books. But I'm crazy that way. It's one of the...

[WotC's recent insanity] I think I've Figured It Out

One of the things I think WoTC is failing at, to engage it's customer base at least, is in providing print copies of adventurers of various sorts set in a world that is well supported. When people talk about older editions of the game, they're not necessarily boasting of how innovative Thaco...

Finding my niche as a player

Define comfort zone. It is when you are in combat and don't seem to be as effective as everyone else? It is in character motivation? you don't have one? It's not been addressed by the GM? It is in character creation? the rules overwhelm you or you just don't like the system? Is it in fitting...

[WotC's recent insanity] I think I've Figured It Out

In terms of what they may be doing, I wonder how much of it is to fight piracy. You can't download a boxed set. On the other hand, I wonder how much money they're leaving on the table by not having PDFs of the tiles and mosnter tokens in the first place.
